Note about shared accounts
[edit]Your user pages implies that there are multiple editors using this single account. This falls afoul of our rules on sharing accounts, which is essentially "don't do it". If there are multiple people editing Wikipedia, then they will need to get their own accounts to edit. Primefac (talk) 13:37, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
- I think you might want to read more closely. It is part of a class project around how knowledge is produced on Wikipedia, I alone, the teacher, am editing Wikipedia and I alone have access to this account. Students are proposing edits separately on Google docs which form the basis of the edits. Thus, this is not a shared account with multiple people using it. As such it does not violate community standards. Colonel By History Classes (talk) 14:09, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
- Fair enough; thank you for clarifying. Primefac (talk) 14:19, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
- You may wish to read(if you haven't already) Wikipedia's education program. 331dot (talk) 17:49, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
Thanks. I have looked at it and seems perfect for larger assignments I might pilot down the road. Colonel By History Classes (talk) 18:43, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
Responding to talk page comments
[edit]I know its a well intentioned edit, but it is frowned upon when another editor modifies the existing comments left behind by a previous user (as was the case in Talk:Military history of Canada during World War II (per WP:TALKO). If you wish to reply to a comment, please provided an indented comment below the original comment (you place a :
before you type out the rest of your comment to create an indent; add ~~~~
for a signature, providing a name and timestamp after your comment); or alternatively if its a new topic, you can start your comment off as a new section of the topic (also provide your signature, sigs a also required for leaving behind comments on any talk page). Thanks! Leventio (talk) 22:27, 2 February 2020 (UTC)
