Speedy deletion nomination of User:Colmod Studios/sandbox
[edit]A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Colmod Studios/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 10mmsocket (talk) 18:09, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Colmod Studios. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 10mmsocket (talk) 18:18, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- Ok. But then for example raven field 5(or something i cant remember). Etc how do they come on wikipedia? Colmod Studios (talk) 19:41, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- Beware in comparing other articles to your efforts; these other articles could themselves be inappropriate and just not yet addressed by a volunteer. As this is a volunteer project where people do what they can when they can, it is possible for inappropriate articles to exist, even for years. We can only address what we know about, but this cannot justify the addition of more inappropriate articles. See other stuff exists. If you want to use other articles as a model or example, use those that are considered good articles, which have received community vetting.
- Articles here are typically written by independent editors wholly unconnected with the topic, who take note of significant coverage of a topic in independent reliable sources and choose on their own to write about it, summarizing those sources. Please see conflict of interest. 331dot (talk) 20:16, 22 August 2024 (UTC)

[edit]You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here. You may also read our FAQ for article subjects.
Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change to this account.- To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
- If you prefer to change the username of this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page):
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
.
Important items to note:
- The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
- The new username you choose cannot already be taken and used by another account. You can search here to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns, "There is no global account for [username]", that means it is available.
- Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page (this page): {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
.
- ok. Makes sense. Please can i ask that my account and all its data gets deleted. As i only signed up to create a info page for my game. But like how does other games get on wikipedia? Colmod Studios (talk) 06:52, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
- Note that to be unblocked you only need to tell us a new username to rename this account to. If you no longer wish to participate here, just stop using and abandon your account- there is no means of deleting account due to legal reasons(all edits must be attributable to someone). If for some reason you don't want the name of this account out there, you can request a vanishing which would rename this account to a random string.
- People or companies do not write about their own games on Wikipedia, nor is Wikipedia a mere database of games, the game must be notable as Wikipedia uses the word, and it must receive significant coverage in independent reliable sources, to merit an article. 331dot (talk) 09:20, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
