Speedy deletion of Amish terminology
[edit]A tag has been placed on Amish terminology requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. —Magic.Wiki (talk) 15:03, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Porculus
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Porculus, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Now copied to Wikitionary, this article should be deleted. Only Ciidae links here, and that is in a long list of red links.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. [edit]Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of previously published material to our articles as you apparently did to Gender roles in First Nations and Native American tribes. Please cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you. Deconstructhis (talk) 14:50, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to Canadian Aboriginal syllabics. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Deconstructhis (talk) 15:29, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Removed speedy deletion tag: Bad boy (archetype)
[edit]Hello Cogito-ergo-sum, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I removed the speedy deletion tag from Bad boy (archetype)- because: No such criterion: the reason given is not a valid criterion for speedy deletion. Use WP:AFD instead. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions, please let me know. NW (Talk) 18:18, 14 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of previously published material to our articles as you apparently did to Newark Holy Stones. Please cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you. Dougweller (talk) 15:15, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
The source (Ancient American magazine) was properly cited. Cogito-ergo-sum (talk) 17:33, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, I mentioned it in my edit summary. It's not a reliable source, its editor and publisher believe in Atlantis, Incas going to Africa, etc. What is called 'cult' or 'fringe' archaeology. It's also racist. And it changes submitted articles drastically without telling the author. Dougweller (talk) 17:56, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
