SJU

[edit]

Help add pictures and info to the Saint Joseph's wikipedia. Make sure it has a copyright. SJU is lagging behind Temple, Villanova, Penn, and Drexel as far as pictures go. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bus2Beezlebub (talkcontribs) 03:44, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Happy New Year! Here is the latest edition of the WikiProject GA Newsletter! Dr. Cash (talk) 03:55, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your support in my RfA. It was definitely a dramatic debate, that landed on WP:100! I paid close attention to everything that was said, and, where possible, I will try to incorporate the (constructive) criticism towards being a better administrator. I'm taking things slowly for now, partially because of the holidays and all the off-wiki distractions. :) I'm also working my way through the Wikipedia:New admin school and double-checking the relevant policies, and will gradually phase into the use of the new tools. My main goals are to help out with various backlogs, but I also fully intend to keep on writing articles, as there are several more that I definitely want to get to WP:FA status! Thanks again, and have a great new year, --Elonka 05:37, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it has a good shot at passing the GAN, I'm out until about later February or early March from wikipedia, so I won't make any more improvements :-). But if you're interested on improving it further, if it does pass GA, or you like to check this out before you nominate it, you can peak at this [1] it's directed more towards "a-class" but you may never know if you get a tough reviewer. My advise is to just take a shot at it, nominate it, and see what happens. —JA10 TalkContribs 21:32, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats it passed. :-) —JA10 TalkContribs 20:59, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:LOTD

[edit]

In the last month, you have created a new WP:FL. From what I can tell, this is your first one. Congratulations! You may not be aware of WP:LOTD. We are experimenting with selecting Lists of the Day so similar to the current WP:TFA and WP:POTD features that run on the main page. I invite you to participate.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 21:43, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A little help please?

[edit]

talk:Taxing and Spending Clause They want to move it under General Welfare Clause. Also, since I kind of re-wrote it around New Year's I've been hoping to the article reviewed and get it re-graded under the wiki-tax project... Foofighter20x (talk) 03:43, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An opinion please

[edit]

Hi. I notice you are a vastly experienced editor here at Wikipedia, and I was wondering if you could take a quick look at User:Refsworldlee/Oliver Golding, and let me know whether it would pass being introduced into mainspace, on grounds of notability (the subject may have given up acting, at least for now, and does not yet play tennis to the very highest standard, being a minor) or any other criteria you think may fit. This would be appreciated. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 14:01, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Louis XIV

[edit]

Why you don't agree with this? : "If we take into consideration the effective dates of his reign (1661-1715) he is the third in Europe, after Johannes II, Prince of Liechtenstein and Franz Josef of Austria". It is true, isnt' it? Louis 14 was a minor for the first part of his reign. Franz Josef ruled 1848-1916 as an adult. So is Johannes II, you can check. Thank you for your support. Hope we shall soon see the end of this embroglio. Merci beaucoup! Wisnia Frania W. (talk) 03:09, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia international

[edit]

Do you check foreign language wikipedia or do you stick to the one in English? There are interesting links in the French one I would like to get you to read, but I am not sure that it is "politically correct" to do so. Frania W. (talk) 06:14, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Following link in French wiki on the discussion page of Louis XVII (from "La Captivité au Temple" on to end of discussion with "Zizanie") http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discuter:Louis_XVII

led to this on Petit'souri discussion page http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discussion_Utilisateur:Petit_souri

Frania W. (talk) 14:52, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The "blocage" of the article did not occur; however, after several warnings, one of the "arguing parties" was barred from fr:wiki for one month on charge of vandalism. Because of what I call "political correctness", and also because it was in a non-English wikipedia, I did not want to bring this up into our current discussion, but it pains me to see that same articles are being held in some kind of limbo in both en:wiki & fr:wiki because of the intransigeancy of one & same person with a history of similar tactics in other en:wiki articles. Frania W. (talk) 16:47, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And as in en:wiki, there were added “clones” 2 & 3 until fr:wiki cancelled them & made Petit'souri go back to its original account then barred it for one month for cause of vandalism. (Petit’ souri – skipped last "s" in word “souris”) Frania W. (talk) 18:15, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Catalan POV

Can you prove the existence of the United Kingdom in 1707, as you can prove the existence of the Kingdom of Spain in 1707? [[2]] —Preceding unsigned comment added by Georg-hessen (talkcontribs) 17:49, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I replied at Talk:War of the Spanish Succession. Thank you for acknowledging that you're pushing a Catalan POV. Coemgenus 17:57, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What's up? Why're you removing my edits based on the nexus' article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.179.16.77 (talk) 02:13, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dude, the article has its sources too. And I didn't delete other PoVs either! It's fair to inform readers about different sources and let them decide which makes more sense or is more credible, why're you being a censorship commy? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.179.16.77 (talk) 19:15, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

McCain's signature

[edit]

I don't really agree with that part of the policy but I've coded one of the bots that enforces it. So at some point mine or one of the others bots is going to remove it anyways. The best think I can think of it to just put the code in the article. While messy it is the only way to follow the policy. BJTalk 01:10, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

edit summary

[edit]

Hi Coemgenus,

just for reference, please put an explanatory edit summary, such as on David Paterson, just so the IPs know for example that you reverted their edit until the resignation is made official.
Have a good day ~ GoldenGoose100 (talk) 19:47, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OOps: to clarify, lol, I see you put on the edit just before to wait until it happens, but try to explain it again (only a few words to type 8-D ) to a different IP. take care ~ GoldenGoose100 (talk) 19:48, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
