Help
Hello! I saw your revert on an edit by 102.0.4.210. I reverted 2 more edits by the user on the same page. You seem to have put a thing on the user's talk page. Can you instruct me on policies I have to follow while reverting Wikipedia edits? I'm very new here and don't know what to do. Thanks! Feeglgeef (talk) 19:25, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hello and welcome! When reverting edits on wikipedia there's a helpful guide for new users Here you can follow. Another useful page is found here if patrolling recent edits is something you are interested in! I use Twinkle, a bot assisted tool, when editing to help provide messages for posting on user pages and such. Hopefully this helps a bit! CoconutOctopus talk 19:30, 24 December 2023 (UTC)

I meant to start the draft on Teresa Kowalska in sandbox but I think I drafted it in the main space instead. I saw your comment that you placed a speedy deletion tag and the contest link went to blank article page. I have completed the article now, but I don't see the tag. Could you let me know what I need to do to contest the deletion? Thank you! Gab Brasseur (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 22:18, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Gab Brasseur the first copy of the article was speedy deleted; your newly posted one is not tagged so won't be, no need to contest. CoconutOctopus talk 22:46, 24 December 2023 (UTC)

CoconutOctopus diligently nominated my article for speedy deletion, in seconds, after noticing my blanking edit, as I accidentally published an article, not a draft. Kudos for your diligence. OnlyNano 17:13, 24 January 2024 (UTC) |

- Dear CoconutOctopus
- My contribution to the page Sanjay Sinha is a living person, who is directly matches to the other page Kapildev Prasad Singh.so by the local information I want to include it to the live page of encyclopaedia.please help me for do more work and research to this article.i request you to grantfully Bihar samagra (talk) 12:01, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- All articles on Wikipedia need to provide reliable evidence of notability, especially articles about people; see the following pages WP:GNG and WP:BIO. An article that makes no claim of notability is eligible for speedy deletion as occured this time; it is on the creator of the article to ensure anything they publish has a solid claim of notability before publishing it. May I suggest you start articles as drafts and put them through WP:AFC in future? This will ensure you get feedback and help before publishing. CoconutOctopus talk 12:07, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hi there, as reviewing administrator I would just like to note that the article didn't qualify for speedy deletion since it contained a credible claim of significance (the subject being a former member of a state legislative council). Otherwise I generally agree with your advice. Regards,

Umm why?
Sorry but why did you turn my Article into a draft? IbrahimMAKER (talk) 12:15, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, I turned the article into a draft as it was not at all ready for the mainspace. The article consisted of a single un-encyclopaedic sentence and no sources. I do note however that there is an article on the stadium on the French wikipedia - I would suggest translating this if you want to improve the draft to a publishable state, and then running it through WP:AFC rather than publishing directly. CoconutOctopus talk 12:17, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thx For Telling Me so now Should i delete it? IbrahimMAKER (talk) 16:05, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- That's up to you, but in its form as a draft you can continue to work on and improve it, and it allows other editors to improve it too if they choose. CoconutOctopus talk 16:22, 1 February 2024 (UTC)

New page creation from Brazilian page marked for guideline violation and possible deletion?
@CoconutOctopus
re: List of Brazilian Federal Police operations
I appreciate the work of the anti-vandalism groups, but it's not appreciated to have a new work that has taken several hours to create haphazardly given a derogatory mark which may lead to deletion. By haphazardly, I mean, that you didn't discuss the deficiencies on the talk page and/or the creator's talk page. "this topic may not meet the Wikipedia general notability guidelines", is ambiguous. What did you specifically see, or not see that led you to immediately tag the page? Especially, since it is a page that is a translation of a page created from another language.
There are more than 46 sources on this page, which you suggested as the cause in the boilerplate tag. Since the page was created so recently, it is doubtful that you had an opportunity to screen all of them for their independence, reliability, or nature. I know that at least one of the sources I screened was from a news source, and not the government, so I'm suspect that you didn't review them.
I'm going to mention this on the talk page for the article, and remove the tag without further discussion on the page's deficiencieseximo (talk) 19:40, 1 February 2024 (UTC)

Help
Good morning,
I started to create my first page on Wikipedia at the request of an association, which sent me its texts, without knowing that they were a carbon copy of their website.
I received a speedy deletion on this page.
I agreed with the association team to modify the content to comply with Wikipedia rules. In the meantime, I have removed the contentious content.
Is it possible to remove the speedy deletion notice so that I can resume editing the page with the new content?
I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Curtiss Pope
Hi, @CoconutOctopus, you asked for the deletion of my Article for Curtiss Pope ands its notability. Can you find where this does not fit Wikipedia's Notability guidelines? The subject is the creator and investor in multiple companies that have been reported on in reputable publications (that are cited and referenced in the page) as well as the creator of a foundational technology products that are part of the American retail and business landscape. Hi @CoconutOctopus, I would like to request a retrieval of the latest deleted draft of article titled YogiGuru Saugaato on User Page debottama23. Your assistance in this matter will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Debottama23 (talk) 08:31, 20 February 2024 (UTC)

- Hi @CoconutOctopus, the link takes me to a bad title page. I did check with another administrator but he could only give me a previously edited draft, and not the last one. How should I go about this? Getting the final draft is really important as I have absolutely no copy of it. It's my first time here, it would be great if you could guide me. New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024
Hello CoconutOctopus,
Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
2023 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.
Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Pages Patrol Discord.
