There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:

Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~)
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to this (your talk) page, and a timestamp.
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put
{{My sandbox}}
on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.Sincerely, User:Crtew (talk) 16:12, 27 August 2013 (UTC) (Leave me a message)
Progress
[edit]You're off to a great start Cmriley3! You were able to create an account, send me a talk page message, and enroll in the course. Now all you have to do is to write something about yourself on your user page! Crtew (talk) 15:36, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
First tasks
[edit]Partly done was changed to Done because you did them all! One suggestion is that you add links to your user page. I did this with University of Southern Indiana on your user page. Can you do this to Journalism by adding two brackets before and after the term that has an article. Crtew (talk) 02:22, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
Adopt a journalist project
[edit]José Galvez (photojournalist): Articles for Creation, Wikipedia:WikiProject California
You're assigned the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service that was won by the Los Angeles Times and the first ever for Latino journalists. You can edit José Galvez (photojournalist) (click here to edit) and include a photo of him for a future digital photography assignment.
This project is affiliated with WikiProject Journalism and WikiProject Freedom of speech and is conducted by a university course that is participating in Wikipedia:Education program.Crtew (talk) 03:45, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
