Bug with ClueBot III
This archive from my talk page removed a equals sign from a section further down. That section was too new to be archived, so it shouldn't have been touched unless it was trying to update links to archived discussions. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 09:57, 1 January 2021 (UTC)

Bots' infobox images
Why is it that the noncombatant ClueBot III has a more aggressive profile picture than ClueBot NG (actively bombing versus merely flying)? :-) —2d37 (talk) 10:02, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- What? Bombing? No, those are threads being archived into oblivion! :P -- Cobi(t|c|b) 23:50, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
Template message wording
Hello all, and thanks for your work on ClueBot. A comment from an incorrigible proofreader, if I may: Template:uw-cluebotwarning1 currently produces the wording ...one or more of your recent edits to x has been.... As one or more is plural, the wording should read ...one or more of your recent edits to x have been... (as it does in {{uw-vandalism1}}, for example). Eric talk 15:38, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- The text at issue appears to be in User:ClueBot NG/Warnings/Vandal1. (As far as I see, there doesn't appear to be a Template:uw-cluebotwarning1.) —2d37 (talk) 10:11, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, yes, thanks! That didn't come up in my quest. Posting there. Eric talk 13:19, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
Can you place a image of lockie Ferguson in Wikipedia as I'm new in Wikipedia and I tried to put image but it didn't so you are experienced in Wikipedia so can you!?
Please Bajrang Uppadhayay 4 (talk) 14:16, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- This edit didn't work because it used an externally hosted image. In order to work, it would have to be uploaded to Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons first. The image here looks very much like a press photo which would be copyrighted and therefore fail WP:NFCC. Lockie Ferguson doesn't have an image of him, this is a bit of a nuisance but the images of living people usually have to be copyright free. BTW, I'm human and not ClueBot.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 17:06, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
Talk Archive
ClueBot III archives talk pages to Template talk:Authority control/Archives/ 11. But it should be Template talk:Authority control/Archives/11. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ChongDae (talk • contribs) 02:56, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

You have been banned from editing the following article(s):
• User talk:Patrick L. Stephen
You cannot edit that article. I told you that on your praise article that you were the worst for doing that.

- Patrick L. Stephen first of all, you are aware that ClueBot NG isn't human right? It's a robot. Therefore you telling it not to edit your talk page is completely pointless as it cannot read. If you want to remove any warning from the bot on your talk page then that's fine. If us administrators need to take action against your account we check the edit history of the page anyway. Also, please be aware that using CAPS comes across as shouting. Finally, when leaving a message on a talk page, please remember to sign it using the four tildes.-- 5 albert square (talk) 22:02, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
Dear Albert Square, Albert, or whoever you are, I know that ClueBot is not a human and it is a bot. I DO NOT want my talk page edited, and I ALSO DO NOT want anything that I edited to be changed. Love, Patrick Stephen Patrick L. Stephen (talk) 22:55, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Patrick L. Stephen: In such case you're extremely unlikely to be successful in building Wikipedia. As you probably noted, everything you publish at Wikipedia is irrevocably released under the CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL – please see the note just below the editing window when you type your next comment. If you disagree with that statement, you can't publish here.
- Additionally please familliarize yourself with WP:OWN – it's one of core Wikipedia policies, hence you can contribute here only if you accept it and comply with it. --CiaPan (talk) 23:10, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

58.182.176.169's talk page archives
- ClueBot III needs to archive 53 disussions from 58.182.176.169's talk page to User talk:58.182.176.169/Archives/2020. 108.88.82.1 (talk) 19:44, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
- From a quick glance, I can't see that ClueBot III is set up to archive that page.-- 5 albert square (talk) 19:14, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

Removing the two paragraphs was my mistake. Highlighted the wrong text as I was deleting something I added. But I do need to lodge a complaint. The text that I was trying to add was in the public domain. It stated that he and his wife, Kelly Loeffler, was not investigated by the DOJ or the Senate Ethic Committee. Not adding it leaved the impression that they are under investigation. That's not fair. Fgbwashdc (talk) 15:58, 12 January 2021 (UTC)Fgbwashdc
- Hi Fgbwashdc, ClueBot is a Wikipedia robot and not a human. Therefore it cannot read anything. If you have an issue with the content of the article, the correct place to raise this would be Talk:Jeffrey Sprecher-- 5 albert square (talk) 21:46, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
A bug? Bot removed an equal sign from section titles
In this edit Special:Diff/997662785 bot has removed one '=' character from titles of two sections. No idea, whether it has something to do with inline HTML comments appended to those titles. --CiaPan (talk) 12:24, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
- I just noticed this behaviour too; this bot is inappropriately removing a leading '=' from talk page section headers; see this diff. I had already fixed the problem once! Cheers, Baffle☿gab 21:38, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- Yeah, the section parser in the bot doesn't understand section headers that have anything after the closing = in a header. The section parser is a bit of a mess because wikitext is somewhat complicated to parse anyway. I'll see if I can spend some time to fix the parser, but for now, maybe edit that particular template not to do that? It's the first template I've seen that uses comments after a header. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 23:43, 4 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Cobi: Thank you for your reply. I think it's a good idea to edit the template, but I'm afraid it will make some benefit the next new year -- all this-NewYear greetings have probably been sent (substed at talk pages) already. Anyway, if somebody is going to make those edits (possibly myself, but certainly not today yet) they should be aware it's a whole family of templates to check, described at the {{Happy New Year fireworks}} template's doc page. --CiaPan (talk) 21:45, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

(Notifying Baffle gab1978 & Cobi, participants of this thread.)
The template has been modified by User:Sdkb with this edit: Special:Diff/999911024 so that is should not trigger the error anymore
– see User talk:Sdkb (Archive 3) §Minor change to a Happy New Year template caused a problem.
But it would be great if the error itself can be fixed, too, as it may appear some day at some other occasion. --CiaPan (talk) 11:12, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
Talk page whitespace
Just a minor note: I have noticed that ClueBot adds an initial whitespace line when creating the first message on a userpage. An example can be seen at User talk:70.26.172.140. Not sure if this is intentional, just wanted to point it out. — Goszei (talk) 04:08, 12 January 2021 (UTC)
- To clarify, if this is not intentional, I request that it be removed. — Goszei (talk) 20:06, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
List of all oreo varieties
The change I made in the page above is adding "Peanut butter and chocolate Oreos" to the other flavors section, I did not add anything else, because I did not know any information so can't I just add the flavor — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.5.118.165 (talk) 07:50, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
