Thanks, ClueBot, for all you and your owner do to keep William Wilberforce free of vandals. It's greatly appreciated! Cheers – Bruce Agendum (talk) 15:31, 4 November 2013 (UTC)

Adding Today's featured article while warning IP's

With this edit, the bot removed a warning made by another user and added Today's featured article to the user talk page. I notice that the bot added the TFA on other talk-pages aswell. Is this intentional and has/should it been fixed? Cheers, Mentoz86 (talk) 13:05, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Also at [1]. This is, like, weird. Philip Trueman (talk) 14:06, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Odd talkpage edit

The revert seems fine, obvious vandalism, but oddness? adding the talkpage template... Begoontalk 14:12, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

This has happened to a number of different IP talk pages today. Denisarona (talk) 14:59, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Ah, yes, it's similar to the section above, now I actually force my eyes to look up... . Weirdness. Begoontalk 15:07, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Still causing strange edits to IP talk pages. Denisarona (talk) 15:23, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Lana Lang references

I was proving detailed reference for Lana Lang, I even followed the Lois Lane page reference to get it right and researched each comic. You undo my work and posted that I was a possible vandal. Why? Was I doing it wrong? I'm pretty sure I wasn't. What's going on?--Faora El (talk) 08:20, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

That does look like a false positive - report it. Sorry that happened to you, but the bot does occasionally misinterpret things. All I see wrong with that edit is that when there's a date= parameter, you don't need to also put the date in parentheses - it creates a double parenthesis. Hardly a major blooper let alone vandalism. Yngvadottir (talk) 08:40, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, I was worried there for a second. I tried to report it but don't know how to. I'm new here.--Faora El (talk) 09:27, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

OK I've reported it for you. Instructions are linked to in the bot's template but it does involve copying and pasting a number. It's useful to report these so that the bot can be educated not to flip out at similar edits in future. Yngvadottir (talk) 17:27, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

Jews

I did not make any edit about jews. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.137.223.224 (talk) 16:50, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

If you did not make that edit linked at the word "changed", then don't worry about the warning - someone else to whom the IP was assigned on November 8 did. Yngvadottir (talk) 17:22, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

ClueBot III wiped the whole of the archive

With this edit, ClueBot III wiped the whole of the archive before adding the eight threads which were being archived. --Redrose64 (talk) 23:37, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

Ulysses S. Grant archiving

Ulysses S. Grant used to be archived by Miszabot. Has this bot taken over those duties? Do I need to change the coding on the talk page? --Coemgenus (talk) 13:46, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

If you need archiving to occur soon, and want ClueBot III to take over, then yes, you do need to change the coding on the talk page. But if you're happy to wait for a MiszaBot replacement to go live, you don't need to do anything. --Redrose64 (talk) 18:43, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
Didn't realize that was in the works. Thanks. I think we can wait. --Coemgenus (talk) 18:58, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

Asteroid stubs

First of all, thanks for running the bots; most of your edits are awesome. Nit: ClueBot II created an unknown number of tiny little stubs about main asteroids a while back that, by current notability guidelines, shouldn't exist. Any articles for main-belt asteroids above 5000 are especially pointless; they're all just interchangeable small rocks that are all in the same place; the odds are that nobody will ever have anything to say about an individual main-belt rock aside from name, discoverer, and date of discovery, which are covered in JPL and Wikipedia's "list of minor planets". Has ClueBot has stopped creating them? If not, we should revisit the discussion per recent WP:NASTRO. Rolf H Nelson (talk) 21:39, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

Those were created in one fell swoop over the period of about 4 days many years ago. At the time there was no objection to the creation of them, and some proponents to it. There have been many, many discussions about it. I think NASTRO came about because of that. I do not currently have the time to write new functionality into ClueBot II to mass-alter them. Search around on the relevant discussion page archives to see what people have said about it. -- Cobi(t|c|b) 21:50, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

I'm obviously doing something wrong.

I just switched this week to Cluebot III after previously using another archiving bot which is now down. I installed the code making two changes. I reversed the format to F/Y and set the age to 72. But nothing has happened. I have threads on the page dating back to November 11. I know you are busy but would you take a look or offer a suggestion to what I am doing wrong? Thanks! JodyB talk 12:11, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

It's working. Thanks. JodyB talk 18:23, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Still struggling here...ClueBot III and Me

I'm moving my archiving to your ClueBot III which I am deeply thankful for. But I have some questions.

1. If I delete all of my old archive pages will CBIII reconstruct them in its own format? I want to move from date based archives to simply numbering.
2. If that is not correct, what would you suggest?
3. How often does the bot run?

Thanks again. You really provide a valuable service to the community. JodyB talk 22:38, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
