Help me Cliffbridges (talk) 23:52, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am a university communications instructor and am new to creating a Wikipedia page. I am working to learn the system and therefore created a proposed page on an organization devoted to high quality jerky. i am not receiving any feedback on my submission or my request . I am respectfully hoping to connect and seek advice. Cliffbridges (talk) 13:30, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am a global university instructor in business communications. I am striving to learn how to make a submission and have studied your tutorials. I want to expose my advanced classes to your process, which is a great one in creating relevant information that is succinct and factual. I have created the above draft and would like to see it go live, assuming it is properly executed. Then I wish to share my experience with my students, and hopefully create pages on other topics. I greatly appreciate input as to what I have put together and improvements needed. I am not fully sure of the process to have a draft released and posted. Cliffbridges (talk) 20:15, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! If you want to expose your classes to Wikipedia, I'd strongly advise that you make use of the Education Program which will help you set up and manage class projects and to make sure that those class projects are beneficial both for your students and for Wikipedia.
There is no need to copy-paste your draft to this talk page. I have added a draft messagebox to the top of that page that has a "Submit your draft for review!" button, but I think it should be improved further before being submitted; the references include press releases, the company's website, and even Facebook; those are not reliable secondary sources. I doubt you'd want your students to cite Facebook in a term paper either. Some cleanup will be required. Huon (talk) 21:06, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I was also helping you with your draft but Huon beat me to the punch. I second everything Huon says. I further add that it appears premature for you to be using Wikipedia as part of your course. Until you are more familiar with our standards and general editing practice, it seems as if you are setting yourself (and your students) up for frustration. Lastly, in case it is apropos, please note that we do have a conflict of interest and paid-editing policies. Jason Quinn (talk) 21:14, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
PS Forgot to mention, our standard for the inclusion of organizations is given by Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Jason Quinn (talk) 21:15, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
