John H. Munro

[edit]

The article John H. Munro has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. User:Zoe|(talk) 23:02, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:CSD. You make no claims of notability in your article, and thus he comes across as a run-of-the-mill minister. Even if he is the pastor of a large congregation, if he has no national standing, he doesn't meet our requirements. And not only did some of that article read as if it was copied from somewhere else, it also called him "John", which could stylistically be considered WP:NPOV. There is no requirement for the deleting admin to have to verify an article's notability. It is the responsibility of the editor who is claiming such. You have not claimed any notability for this person, and therefore the article is speedy deleted. If you create it again, the page will be protected so that you can't recreate it.
