Control copyright icon Hello Clenixon, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your additions to Draft:Phono-Cinéma-Théâtre have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Kirbanzo (userpage - talk - contribs) 23:05, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Boleslaw Lewandowski moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Boleslaw Lewandowski, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Greece national football team results (1980–1999), you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Valentin Ivanov and Georgios Georgiadis. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Recent edit reversion

[edit]

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 19:34, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Pere Monistrol a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Pedro Monistrol. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Primefac (talk) 08:58, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

All right then. I have changed the name through the "Move" tab. Don't forget to review the page (if its in line with Wikipedia standarts of course). Clenixon (talk) 13:48, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing indicates that "Pedro Monistrol" is his name; if you think otherwise, please start a move request on the talk page and provide some sources that indicate that Pere Monistrol is not his name. Primefac (talk) 13:52, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I do not know how to explain you this, but Pere is his name in Catalan, while Pedro is how you say it in Spanish. In Wikipedia, Catalan names are always in Spanish. Domènec is Domingo, Francesc is Francisco, Esteve is Estebán, Joan is Juan. I also didn't knew that at the beggining, so that's why I created it as Pere, but I came to realise that Catalan names are always written in Spanish, so it should be Pedro. Clenixon (talk) 14:02, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the primary issue is that all of the references give his name as Pere, so if you want to move the page you'll need to start a talk page discussion. Primefac (talk) 16:16, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I'm Clenixon.
First of all, what a player your great-grandfather was. It's trully a shame what happened to him.
Now, if you go to my contributions page (on the right top corner), you will see my contributions are mainly about: "Spanish football in the early 20th century", and that's why I did him. So, I am not a McGuiness' relative, in fact, I am not even English or Spanish (I'm Portuguese).
I literally got all of his information from his Spanish and Basque wiki pages (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_McGuinness and https://eu.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_McGuinness) and a couple of other sources/references that I found on Google. And it's funny because I only discovered the existence of his Spanish wiki page thanks to a guy called Crowsus (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:Crowsus). In fact, as soon as I uploaded the page Crowsus immediately corrected all the mistakes I did as you can see in the page's history.
I'm happy to know that my work is relevant and being noticed and that is somehow helping people acquire more knowledge about this forgotten football stuff of +100 years ago.
Thank you. Clenixon (talk) 21:30, 12 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi thanks for creating this article. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. “translated from es.wiki”) and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. I’ve added it for you. Information icon Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Draft:2003 Cyprus International Tournament, to Wikipedia, as doing so is not in accordance with our policies. For more information about creating articles, you may want to read Wikipedia:Your first article; you might also consider using the Article Wizard. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Following on from your warnings in April 2022, one of which clearly states Please do not create articles in mainspace until you have a better understanding of notability guidelines. Please read WP:GNG and WP:NOT very carefully. Your biographical articles of late have been fantastic. Adolfo Wandosell is a great article and uses multiple reliable sources giving more than just stats on Wandosell. A similar approach is needed with your tournament articles. RSSSF, 11v11 and Goalzz are just basic stats websites and do not indicate why the subject is notable. It would be more appropriate to cite newspaper articles discussing the tournament in detail. ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:44, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Pedro Larrañaga moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Pedro Larrañaga, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 13:16, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Clenixon. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "First football match in Spain".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 16:30, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
