CKY-related edits
[edit]Hey, I noticed you've been creating a lot of CKY-related articles. I've suggested most of these to be deleted or merged because they're simply not informative enough and they're unsourced. See WP:RS for information about reliable sources. --Liface 19:42, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Thatshim.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Thatshim.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 16:10, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
Using preview
[edit]I would like to thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Image copyright problem with Image:BrandonDicamillo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:BrandonDicamillo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Image
[edit]Hi, it appears you tagged the image "Bambambambam.jpg" as a self-made image available under the GFDL. If you could provide evidence that you took the photograph yourself, and have the permission of the subject to license it under the GFDL that would be great. If the image should have been tagged differently, please re-tag. If the image was found on the internet and you do not explicitly know its copyright status, please do not use it on Wikipedia or upload similar images in future. The image will be removed from the Bam Margera article in the meantime. Thanks, Deizio talk 14:23, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Block
[edit]You have been blocked for repeated breaches of copyright. Your addition to Ryan Dunn was lifted directly from www.ryandunn.tv. Please contact me on this page or by email after you have read the relevant copyright and content policies. If you can demonstrate understanding of such and assert future good behaviour you will be unblocked. Deizio talk 17:28, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
{unblock|I did not understand Wikipedia copyright rules, I have read the copyright and content policies and now understand my mistake. I would really appreciate an unblock. (P.S. I am also on a Highschool comp. and the network all shares the same proxy.}
Please note. I hope that you will stay and make productive edits to Wikipedia. But be forewarned that in the case of further vandalism, you will be blocked again without warning. --Trödel 20:23, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Seconded. Verification of facts and ensuring compliance with copyright policies should be foremost in your editor's mind from now on. Deizio talk 20:29, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
{{helpme}} I am still blocked and Trode unblocked me.
- I suggest that you place the {{unblock}} template here again, giving all the block details shown in the 'you are blocked' screen; this will attract someone who is capable of checking what's happened and correcting it. (Most likely, it's because your IP has been blocked; according to the block-log, the unblock worked and the username isn't blocked, so an admin will need to unblock your IP). --ais523 16:07, 15 December 2006 (U T C)

Blocked
[edit]Claytex, the warnings and previous block don't appear to be working. Image:Gnarkill3.jpg is another breach of copyright. You cannot "scan" something and claim it as your own work to be freely licensed under the GFDL. You have been blocked for 72 hours, during which time I seriously advise you to read the image copyright criteria, something you claimed to have done. Copyright is a serious issue, and Wikipedia can only support editors who understand and respect the policies involved. Further copyright breaches could result in longer blocks. You should also think about the legal implications of copyright and intellectual property. Deizio talk 13:01, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
What would the license be under a scanned picture? I thought maybe it would of been GFDL but i guess not becuase i got blocked for saying that it was self made.
- If it is a reproduction of work that someone else created (e.g. The Mona Lisa, a photo someone else took etc etc) then they own the copyright and you cannot republish or distribute it as your own, regardless of how you transmit or recreate the image. The album art you uploaded also carries the line "Coming 2007" so it's unlikely it can even be used under fair use until the album has been released. All this information is available at Wikipedia:Copyright, I suggest you start looking for help there. Asking questions on the copyright talk pages might be a good idea. There are legal implications to all this which is why I want to make sure you understand the situation this time before you start editing again. Deizio talk 13:56, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
Diez, I was just wondering if you liked Gnarkill or know anything about them. Becuase some of the info. i submited on the Gnarkill artical was infact extremly true, and helpful for anyone wanting info. about them or updates. But it seems the only one reverting my edits are you. Can you please explain why? I dont think Im violating any copyright policies.
- Please do not use the {{helpme}} template to communicate with single users. You may use their talk page, your talk page, or email.—WAvegetarian•(talk) 19:13, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
- I know a lot about CKY and various related projects. There's a long list, but for starters I'll point out I created the CKY template and have been a substantial contributor to most of the articles on it. I'm thinking about starting a CKY wikiproject if I have time in the new year, and I hope if that happens you would join up. I am also an administrator, and well versed in Wikipedia policy. If I remove or revert any of your edits, rest assured it has been done for policy / guideline reasons. WP contributions should be sourced to satisfy verifiability, a core content policy. Info that you know from watching DVD commentaries, reading web forums and heard from friends is not always appropriate, nor is it necessary to report every last detail that can be reported on a given topic. Quality not quantity is often the best approach.
- With specific reference to Gnarkill, they are a novelty band with a small following, and I think you'll agree that a band of this type would not even be on the radar but for the fame achieved by its participants in other projects. Though it may be hard to find sourced information about them, sourced information (and images that comply with copyright policy) is what you need to build the article. I'm monitoring this talkpage so just reply here if you wish. Deizio talk 20:53, 18 December 2006 (UTC)
I'm sorry if you took my last reply offensive or somthing Diez. I just did not know if you were someone with no knowlege of cKy realted material deleting things just because they look wrong. But I think that it is extremly intresting that you mentioned a cKy wikiproject. I think that that would be the best and I would definatly contribute, and as far as Gnarkill goes, your right, they are off the radar. But still an extremly funny band, actually my favorite. I keep up to date with thier band blogs on MySpace, and if you do also then I'm sure you know aomthing of their new album coming out in 2007 (Gnarkill III: Ten Gallons of Fuck You Juice), of (Best of Gnarkill. But I dont see why someone can not post that Gnarkill3.jpg picture somehow, I mean it is going to be thier album art for their new album.
P.S. as Wikipedian to Wikipedian, If you know any good cKy related links that are not that common, if not thats fine.
- I probably get my CKY info at the same places you do. By the way, it's Deiz, "d-E-I-z", not Diez. I'm not Spanish. As you continue your research while blocked, plase check out User talk:204.184.109.241#Edits, as these provisions will apply to you in the future. The album art will be valid as soon as the album is released, not before. Deizio talk 14:18, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Diez when will you be starting that cKy wikiproject and exactly what will it be?. And also what do you think about starting a Matt COle page? I have tryed several times but always gets deleted, I get the info. straight from Cole's Official MySpace also.
- As I said, I'll evaluate the viability of the project in the new year. A combined CKY / Jackass project is also a possibility. If Matt Cole doesn't pass WP:BIO it will be difficult to list an article about him. Myspace is not considered a reliable source. And again, it's Deiz, not Diez. Deizio talk 16:30, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
I'll have to find a site on Matt Cole, I'm sure i kind find something somewhere. His Bio. is on his MySpace so I'm sure that I kind find it somewhere legit.
- This is just a very quiet in word in the ear: If "you two" know each other, or perhaps even share the same set of fingers and toes, I recommend one of you ceases to edit. Plenty of administrators would call for a checkuser if they had any inkling that an editor was somehow attempting to evade a block. If this is a happy, coincidental meeting of Matt Cole fans, then I suggest 204.184.109.241 registers a username. I would hate to have any reason to start thinking the worst here. 204.184.109.241
[edit]I really don't want to have to request an investigation of whether you and User:204.184.109.241 are the same person, but it's not difficult to trace edits and draw some simple conclusions. You already got autoblocked once when that IP was blocked which is pretty strong evidence. Anything you want to tell me? The IP has been blocked again so if you get autoblocked again requesting an unblock will just bring possibly unwanted attention to your account. Deizio talk 13:50, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well there's an issue with this IP pretty much entirely related to CKY articles. Like I said, if you get autoblocked because of this, you'll just have to wait it out. Deizio talk 01:04, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
Destroying America
[edit]You may have noticed a "notability" tag on the page, placed by User:Calton. Calton is a good guy and I agree with him on a lot of things, but his concern here seems to be that featuring a couple of notable stars, a review in Switch Magazine and being listed on IMDb is not enough to satisfy our notability criteria. I think the appearances of Hawk and Estrada make this notable (just) but it would help to find mention of this in a couple of reliable sources. Don't worry about removing the tag or contacting Calton, if you improve the article let me know and we'll take it from there. Deizio talk 04:07, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Matt Cole
[edit]While I think Matt Cole is hilarious, I don't think he is notable enough to satisfy WP:Notability and WP:V. He just hasn't done that much in the public eye. - Ocatecir 19:40, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
Biography
[edit]You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
A tag has been placed on an article you wrote requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
You may want to read the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. Philippe Beaudette 19:25, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
Re Corey Duffel -- please don't post the article until it contains reliable sources showing this person's notability. Thanks, NawlinWiki 19:45, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Corey Duffel, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article is a repost of either already posted material, or of material that was previously deleted in a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how Corey Duffel is different from all other articles, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:Corey Duffel saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we ask you to follow these instructions. Mhking 13:29, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
- The problem was that there was nothing to establish notability as would be needed under the guidelines (WP:N and WP:MUSIC more specifically) to warrant inclusion in Wikipedia. If you can provide something -- publication or recognition by a major label or publication, something that would indicate its overall notability, then there is no reason that it wouldn't/shouldn't stay on Wikipedia. --Mhking 17:47, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Jackass: The Game
[edit]Hi,
I'm not really too involved in editing this article (I like Jackass and all, but not enough to thoroughly edit an article about it). Most of the stuff I've done is rudimentary cleanup and cursory links. I might do some more tonight, but I was basically just giving it enough work to avoid the possibility of an AfD. Cheers, Lankybugger 22:55, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

- The basic issue there is that Blastazoid has only a passing rather than direct connection to Jackass, featuring a couple of supporting cast members, and OiL has no connection whatsoever.. if you want to create templates from scratch, the best way is often to find a similar template, edit it and save under the desired name. Orphaned fair use image (Image:411bam.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:411bam.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. If the link was to an image, please read Wikipedia's image tutorial on how to use a more appropriate method to insert the image into an article. If your link was intended to promote a site you own, are affiliated with, or will make money from inclusion in Wikipedia, please note that inserting spam into Wikipedia is against policy. Image:Apeape2.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Apeape2.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chowbok ☠ 03:35, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Claytex. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Buhtitlescreen.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Claytex. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 07:42, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 23:28, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Destroying America
[edit]A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Destroying America, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. B. Wolterding 18:26, 8 October 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Rudyblitz.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Rudyblitz.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 21:09, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
Notability of Rudy & Blitz
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Rudy & Blitz, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Rudy & Blitz seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Rudy & Blitz, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.
