Notes and stuff
[edit]Hey- just got your note! I can understand why you're confused over tone- I did the exact same thing when I first started editing. I had people say I was being promotional and/or too informal, and I'd look at things wondering where they got that from. In any case, here's some examples of what should be either removed or rewritten:
Phrases such as "As they crossed the western provinces by van, the three men shared stories about the ups and downs they had experienced as musicians and also shared their hopes and dreams in the industry, and they formed a strong bond." really posed a problem because while this is informative, it's a bit too casual. This isn't a bad sentence, mind you. If this was for anything other than a Wikipedia entry, it'd be fantastic. It just needs a bit of editing here and there. What really kind of set off concerns of tone are WP:PEACOCK terms such as "prestigious" in the phrase "Peak FM’s prestigious British Columbia-wide Peak Performance Project". Basically, we pretty much never use this term to describe anything in Wikipedia unless it's something that is universally considered to be prestigious, such as a Grammy. Even then we just say "The band won a Grammy in 2010 for their self-titled album" or something to that extent. The reason we never use this term is because the term is rather relative. What seems to be prestigious to one isn't prestigious to all, making the term more of an opinion than anything else.
Another issue is that in sections such as the one about The Bandwagon Project, the information given pretty much comes across as an advertisement for the project. I'm still called out on sounding promotional myself, so the line between informative and promotional is very incredibly thin. That's why we've got to be so very careful about how we phrase things. I can help you out some on the re-writing if you want. This isn't unsalvagable, it just needs some re-writes. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:37, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
- Hmm... so far the sources look good except for the Canadian Beats source, which would be considered to be a blog source that can't show notability. I can definitely look over the re-writes as you do them. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:23, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

[edit]I accepted the article and put it in the mainspace. I'm still a little worried about someone tagging it, but I think that the sources are enough to show notability. I found an image you uploaded to WC and added that into the infobox. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:25, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
