It so happens that I've written a book about editing Wikipedia. I think you've misunderstood some aspects of Wikipedia (easy enough to do; that's why I wrote the book). If you'd like, I'd be happy to send you a copy (at no charge). -- John Broughton (♫♫) 18:52, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
that is very nice of you. For sure I've misunderstood some aspects. Inconsistent policies across pages and uncivil/discourteous with no recourse reminds me more of the IRS than a group entity working to describe something. It would be like a spammer hitting my newsgroup and using your name and me deciding to call you out as a spammer across the usenet (and damaging your reputation), and me never responding to any polite inquiries from you to clear up the mistake. That's as close as it gets to inexcusable and life is too short.

And to your credit you use your name. the editors I see on those pages and that have erroneously pinned some spammer urls to me do not use their names. They have code names. They've abstracted themselves outside any rules.

I think they should get medals/recognition for those types of actions too....

Hopefully you're book covers how to extricate yourself from Wikipedia.

Thanks John
