Kajeneri Mugenzi Christian

Christian Kajeneri is a Rwandan Engineer, born on December 25, 1983, in Niamey, Niger. He is best known for his contribution in Fintech Space with MTN Mobile Money Rwanda Limited as the Head of Strategy, Products and Services.

Early life and education

Christian was born and raised in Niamey, where he attended Nursery School. He later moved around West Africa [Togo, Benin, Mali, Ivory Cost] before coming to DRC, Kinshasa where he did all his primary school until 1994 after the Genocide Against Tutsis ended and returned to do his High School then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from the University of Rwanda [College of Science and Technologies] and a Master of Business Administration and Leadership from the Pan African renown University Africa Leadership University School of Business.

Career

After completing his studies, Christian Kajeneri worked as a System Administrator Engineer, Junior IP engineer at the Rwanda Development Board, under the ICT Department, then moved from various positions including Ericsson Digital services in Southern and East Africa supporting MTN as a customer unit. Later to move into MTN Mobile Money Rwanda Ltd three months after the new established company was issued a license to work as a Payment Service Provider in Rwanda.

MTN Mobile Money Rwanda has had a significant impact on Rwanda's economy and financial inclusion. Here are some of the ways in which Mobile Money Rwanda has made a positive impact in Rwanda: Increased financial inclusion: MTN Mobile Money Rwanda has helped to increase financial inclusion in Rwanda by providing a convenient and accessible mobile financial service to the unbanked population. The service has allowed people to access financial services, make transactions, and pay bills, even if they don't have a traditional bank account. Boosted economic growth: Mobile Money Rwanda has contributed to Rwanda's economic growth by making it easier for people to engage in economic activity. With the ability to easily send and receive money, pay bills, and conduct transactions, people are able to engage in more economic activities, which ultimately leads to increased economic growth.

Reduced the cost of financial services: With MTN Mobile Money Rwanda, people can conduct transactions and pay bills at a lower cost than traditional banking services. This has made financial services more affordable and accessible to people who previously may not have been able to afford them. Improved financial security: Mobile Money Rwanda has improved financial security in Rwanda by reducing the need for people to carry cash around. With Mobile Money Rwanda, people can easily store and access their money electronically, reducing the risk of theft and loss. Increased entrepreneurship and job creation: The availability of mobile financial services has also led to increased entrepreneurship and job creation in Rwanda. With the ability to easily conduct financial transactions, entrepreneurs can start and grow businesses more easily, ultimately creating more job opportunities. Overall, MTN Mobile Money Rwanda has had a positive impact on Rwanda's economy and society by increasing financial inclusion, boosting economic growth, reducing the cost of financial services, improving financial security, and promoting entrepreneurship and job creation.

In addition to his current job, Christian serves a Council Member under the City of Kigali Councilors Advisory Board.

Personal life

Christian Kajeneri currently lives in Kigali, Rwanda, with his wife and two daughters.
