Hernandez's number

[edit]

Actually, it was Hargreaves who people were speculating would wear #23. I remember because I had this exact same argument with someone about that three years ago. Anyway, I've seen no evidence of Fergie confirming Hernandez's number - only a couple of articles on tabloid news sites and football gossip sites, none of which feature any quotes from Alex Ferguson. Furthermore, as you have said, the online club shop features a disclaimer that says numbers may change and that the ones they are selling are not official or confirmed. I agree that it is highly likely that Hernandez will wear #14, especially as the number is now free after Tosic's departure and he wore the same number for Mexico in South Africa, but it is by no means confirmed by any sources I've seen. – PeeJay 08:25, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You know Manchester United doesn't actually operate its own club shop. Nike operates the store, and the online shop is run by Kitbag.com. They operate under guidance from the club, but they are in fact completely independent, so their opinion regarding Hernandez's squad number is hardly a reliable source. – PeeJay 21:33, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
