Changing shortcuts
Changing shortcuts on a page stops pages linked to it via the shortcut working. Please don't change shortcuts without some discussion first, especially important ones where people might remember a particular shortcut and use it. And the five pillars page already has enough shortcuts I believe. Dmcq (talk) 17:14, 1 October 2011 (UTC)
- Changing what shortcuts display on a page (in {{shortcut}}, for example) doesn't change what shortcuts exist. Shortcuts are redirect pages. Even if someone completely removed the {{shortcut}} from WP:5, or any other page with it, none of the pages that redirect to it would change. - Thanks about that. I noticed the shortcuts listed on the page have not changed for at least a year so I see no reason someone should change them without discussion. Dmcq (talk) 10:03, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- Looking in the history, I also see multiple editors have reverted the addition of WP:5, as well as others, with no more reason than "it's unnecessarily confusing to clutter page with multiple shortcuts, "more shortcuts == more confusion," "Do we need yet another shortcut?" etc. That's why I removed the unhelpful shortcut WP:FIVEPILLARS from the page (it's barely shorter than wp:five pillars, the actual page) and added the shortest shortcut, WP:5. →Dynamic|cimanyD← (contact me) 12:33, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Thanks!
Cheers for fixing the formatting on Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Moto53 user pages - first time I'd tried a multiple MfD; I was afraid I might have screwed up somewhere, and it appears I did. Anyway, thank you for sorting it out. Yunshui (talk) 21:06, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
Yunshui has given you a cookie! Cookies promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. You can spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a cookie, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend.
To spread the goodness of cookies, you can add {{subst:Cookie}} to someone's talk page with a friendly message, or eat this cookie on the giver's talk page with {{subst:munch}}!
- Thanks for the cookie! That was similar to my first attempt at a group-MFD. :) For the future, forget about {{mfd2}} and just start it out with a level 4 heading, followed by a {{pagelinks}} for each page (all indented once, on separate lines), then the text of the nomination. →Dynamic|cimanyD← (contact me) 21:23, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
- Much obliged for the advice. Yunshui (talk) 10:38, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Sigs
Occasionally it is possible, during many edits, for a sig to get missed. Referencing the edit in question would be helpful. Oh, and WP:DTTR. Plutonium27 19:36, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
- First, I wasn't referring here to forgetting to sign, but I was referring to you not having a link in your signature to one of the three things mentioned here. Second, I don't need to reference any edits because it's clear that your signature above this post has no links. Third, that wasn't a template. →Dynamic|cimanyD← (contact me) 22:43, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for your continuing interest in my contributions. You'll be relieved to know that my recent sig link failure was due to inadvertent changes made during a My Pref edit and has now been restored. Plutonium27 (talk) 14:30, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
