Judith Klinman I posted a note about WikiProject Women Scientists at the Help Desk. Someone at the Project may be able to assist since they are interested in this topic & you provided sources on the JK talk page. Tribe of Tiger (talk) 00:35, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Judith Klinman

[edit]

@Cincinyoda: Hi, I have added all of the awards that you listed on JK's talk, page,to the article. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to improve this article. Please note that a COI does not absolutely forbid you from adding to the page, however, if you will post the info on the article's talk page and let me know, I will verify the info and add it to the article. It really does need to be expanded, but I don't possess the scientific knowledge required to research and write such an expansion. I could, however, read and verify whatever additions are written. Hope you might be willing to do this. Thanks, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 05:31, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks so much for the reply, I would be very willing to do this and would love your help. One of my problems is that I don't know how to find references for biographical details of Judith's career. For example, she was a postdoc and then a scientist at the Fox Chase Cancer Center but the Center doesn't list past affiliates. How do I reference that? For scientific accomplishments I can reference her published work, but for bio details it's harder. I'll start posting on the talk page as I gather everything. Thanks again! @Cicinyoda: go,to WP:BLP and read Reliable Sources. This bio detail is not contentious or likely to be challenged. And her past history may be referenced in some other source, so you could use that. Hope this helps.Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 22:34, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Tribe of Tiger: I made a request to add in more detail to her bio with references to other locations with her bio info. Hope this works. Will add in research info with references soon. Thanks for taking a look and for your help!Cicinyoda (talk) 23:11, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Cicinyoda:See the WP article on Fox Chase Cancer Center, which was formed by a merger in 1974. Judith worked at the Institute for Cancer Research, which is mentioned in some of the sources that are already in the article. So you could say "worked at ICC, (now Fox ChaseCC) during xx years". Strongly suggest adding her to notable former researchers at Fox Chase article, and link her name to her article.

Some of the sources in the article are "gold mines" of biographical info. You may not need to look for any/many others, so read thru them first. Her CV is also a reliable source, and also has the Institute for Cancer Research dates listed. I found this thru the UC Berkley site, although it (the CV) is not currently cited in the article. @Tribe of Tiger: Hi, you were very helpful a couple years ago with some edits. Could you help again? Someone changed Judith's bio to say she was the first female professor in the sciences at UC Berkeley, but she was the first in the physical sciences--an important distinction. I've made an edit request on the talk page but no one has made the change yet. Thanks for considering this.
