Welcome!

Hello, ChukwukaPromiseChisom, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page History of Nigeria did not conform to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may have been removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations verified in reliable, reputable print or online sources or in other reliable media. Always provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

Information icon Please do not add commentary, your own point of view, or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. El_C 05:31, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To add to El_C's note, it appears the site you're sourcing for your edits to History of Nigeria is your own blog, based on your username on Wikipedia matching the social links on https://www.nigeriahistory.com.ng. Instead, you should cite the same secondary sources you use to write your blog, if those sources are themselves reliable. —ScottyKnows 19:30, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I know fully well that all written contents on https://www.nigeriahistory.com.ng are reliable and verifiable.

These are articles written and owned by https://www.nigeriahistory.com.ng as there are no secondary sources for which the articles were written as they were created from scratch with a wide range of research.

I don't think the blog ownership should matter as these contents are reliable and verifiable.

The articles are unique themselves and offer exceptional value which are not found anywhere on Wikipedia's pages.

However, this was the main reason for citing this source for added value.

Thanks for your understanding,

Promise, Humble Wikipedia editor. ChukwukaPromiseChisom (talk) 00:24, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Promise, I have no doubt that the information could be accurate, and certainly I'm not an expert to refute them. Nonetheless, your website likely would likely be considered a self-published source, which generally aren't considered reliable or verifiable sources. As the policy notes "Self-published expert sources may be considered reliable when produced by an established subject-matter expert, whose work in the relevant field has previously been published by reliable, independent publications." If you're able to show that you and any other authors of the website are recognized as subject-matter experts by another reliable, independent publication, that would help make your site more reliable. In other words, I trust that you're confident about the accuracy of your research, but on Wikipedia, other readers and editors need to be able to verify the source independently.
I do encourage you to continue contributing, because it seems like valuable information to make available. I just want to make sure it's following Wikipedia's policies for reliability and verifiability. —ScottyKnows 03:34, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Scotty for your understanding. I will continue adding value to the community.

Regards, Promise (Humble Wikipedia Editor). User:ChukwukaPromiseChisom 12:40, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:ChukwukaPromiseChisom, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.  Velella  Velella Talk   22:25, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
