I joined Wikipedia with the aim of enhancing the article for my home town of Beemer NE. Along with that, it occurred to me and article on Beemer's founder, A.D. Beemer would be good. I would also like to create an article about former Beemer resident, William E. Galbraith, who served as National Commander and Vice National Commander of the American Legion.
One quickly learns what an impressive feat Wikipedia really is. Every article has required a fair amount of work. Even an article on a small village like Beemer can take many hours to gather references, conduct research, collaborate with fellow Wiki contributors and, oh yes...the write/edit/improve cycle.
Please feel free to comment on my planned projects and the articles to which I have contributed:
I still need photos of:
- The Lutheran, Methodist, and Mennonite church buildings
- Main Street Beemer with the old water stand pipe at the top of the street
- Beemer Park
- Karlen Memorial Library
- The Beemer school at various stages: 1950's, prior to the expansion; Circa 1986 to show state at end of Beemer's first century; immediately prior to demolition of old part of building; current
There is some mystery, as pointed out be a fellow contributor, concerning the date of the founding or the cemetery vs the dates of at least one grave marker.
Does anyone know of a good reference document about the Rock Creek settlement? How about a contact who can answer some questions?
The current article has quite a few unreferenced claims that could be enhanced. Please help if you can.
I am in need of good reference material to support an article on William Galbraith. Can you help?

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Baseball Australia Diamond Awards, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Victoria (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
