License tagging for Image:L 712d54c3e8617e2702739af5eecb34d9.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:L 712d54c3e8617e2702739af5eecb34d9.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:05, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. --Sigma 7 19:59, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Even more important

Because the material you submitted was copyright of Brad, it had to be deleted. Sorry. DS 14:19, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of The Dirty Works

[edit]

A tag has been placed on The Dirty Works, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Andante1980 07:20, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Warning

[edit]

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to the User:DragonflySixtyseven page. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. NawlinWiki 15:59, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The edit of yours that I reverted (which isn't showing up in the article history and is very odd) shouldn't have been flagged as vandalism, and if it was, I apologize. The reason I reverted it is that it elaborated on slam dancing and moshing, which already have their own articles, which are linked to right in that section. Yes, I know the template in the section states that it needs to be improved, but if anything, that's more in the area of references/sourcing.

Don't get discouraged, though! It's perfectly normal to spend your first few weeks on Wikipedia getting mildly corrected, which is how we help out the new folks. The best advice I can give is the advice already given by others - check out our welcome page and spend some time getting comfortable with the guidelines and policies we have. Wikipedia encourages its editors to be bold, and in return, we're supposed to be nice when you boldly stumble a bit. As long as you're acting in good faith and not showing a complete disregard for our community standards, nobody should bite you. Happy editing, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask my on my talk page or type {{helpme}} right here on your talk page. Thanks for uploading File:Tn background art grey-1-.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 09:41, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Quoting yourself, editorializing are not permiited

[edit]

Regarding https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Germs_(band):

All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research and Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Do not quote yourself or continue to post your personal rants in the guise of sourced quotes, or you will be in violation of conflict of interest. A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Christopher Scum/sandbox/Christopher Scum, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
