User talk:Christenburyeyecenter
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Christenburyeye, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I notice that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

- How to edit a page

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! :- ) Don 23:20, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
Dear Don,
Thank you for the email. This is my first post to Wikipedia and I'm creating it for a client. I used an account they set up, but now realize it should not be called Christenburyeye.
Since writing the article from a company representative's perspective can create a conflict of interest, perhaps it would be better for me to use my personal Wikipedia account to write about this company? Would that make more sense and help me to publish this article?
Thank you for your advice!
Christenburyeye (talk) 01:06, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
- Yes a personal account is required for the Wiki and you should probably list the COI on your User page. I know it a lot to read, but you may want to have a look at WP:COI and WP:USERNAME
- Also as compared to email, we always post at the bottom here. To add to a page, you can click the New Section button and it will begin a new section at the bottom of the current talk page. It just so happens I noticed the page change, in order to communicate effectively on the Wiki either leave a message on my talk page, or if you post a message here place {{Talkback|your username}} on my talk page. That will tell me there is a message here. Thanks for you efforts. -- :- ) Don 02:03, 11 September 2012 (UTC)

Change username, or start fresh?
[edit]Hi Don,
This article was rejected due to a lack of citations, but there was very little guidance on which portions of the article were contested or likely to be contested.
Also, I read through COI and USERNAME and would very much like to change the name of this account before resubmitting the article, is this possible?
Thank you very much for your time. Christenburyeye (talk) 16:14, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Christenburyeye,
- Yes it is possible and fairly simple, but it can take a day or two. Go here: WP:RENAME and read as necessary and click on the link at the bottom for simple user name change. (Assuming you don't want a name that already exists) Follow the instructions exactly. They are fairly simple, but must be done correctly. That should do it. Let me know if you have any problems.
- Regards, -- :- ) Don 17:08, 28 September 2012 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
- Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, getting old and forgetful. Your signed user name is set in your preferences. You may want to check that. -- :- ) Don 20:12, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Dr Jonathan D Christenbury, M.D.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Dr Jonathan D Christenbury, M.D.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 01:02, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Jonathan D. Christenbury
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jonathan D. Christenbury, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. DGG ( talk ) 02:28, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
Deletion
[edit]In response to your message, you're mistaken in suggesting that I nominated the page for deletion. Someone else did that - I actually deleted it because I agreed with the nomination. On this very page you admit that you created the article "for a client" and thus there is a clear conflict of interest involved here. I would accept that the subject of the article is probably notable, but the article is written like a résumé, designed to emphasize his success and recommend him to customers. I would recommend that you do not try to write any more articles on behalf of "clients". Deb (talk) 19:26, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
Advertising
[edit]Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:01, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
Why are you using an account called Christenburyeye, after you had the original account under that name renamed to IvanB85? JamesBWatson (talk) 11:06, 17 April 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for the warning about editing. As for the name, it should all be set now. Thanks again.

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:IvanB85/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.
If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. DGG ( talk ) 04:16, 30 November 2013 (UTC)
