[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Lester Flatt has been reverted. Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\byoutube\.com' (link(s): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbbxhcqUwTM) . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. an image or a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy and therefore probably should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).

If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! File permission problem with File:Chris Sharp.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Chris Sharp.jpg, which you've attributed to Hideyuki Watanabe. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 13:25, 27 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Chrissharp80. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.Canterbury Tail talk 12:59, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Response to Conflict of interest

[edit]

Canterbury Tail - Someone created this page a long time ago and then people like you started flagging it for deletion for no sources. I have provided the sources and I added a picture of myself that I own. I corrected some text, etc... Seems like every time I clarify or correct something I get a message from someone. Do you really have a problem with me putting a picture that I own on a page about me to identify myself? Really? - Chris Sharp

I have not attempted to delete the page or anything of such, so be careful with the "people like you" comments. Comment on the edits, not on the editors. I'm simply pointing out that Wikipedia has policies in place about Conflicts of Interest that parties with those conflicts need to be aware of them. Since you hadn't been informed about them on your talk page I've taken the opportunity to inform you of these policies and the guidelines you need to follow when editing a page about yourself where you have a conflict. Note I have not deleted anything, edited anything or stopped you from doing anything. And people don't have a problem with you uploading a photo of yourself, however Wikipedia needs to be careful about the copyright status of such photographs being uploaded, hence the messages above. Many people take other people's copyrighted work and attempt to upload them to Wikipedia so we have to be very careful about that. I'm sure you can appreciate that if someone were to upload copies of your work to the internet for everyone to access for free without any acknowledgement to you. Canterbury Tail talk 15:31, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Chrissharp, it's really simple. Of course you have a conflict of interest: you claim you are the subject of the article. And yes, you are making all kinds of personal attacks on that talk page, in a pretty incoherent way. In addition, "but you can rest, assured that I will hire whatever lawyer I need to deal with you" and "You are all breaking the rules and, if necessary, I will hire an attorney" are clear legal threats; that's already enough for a block. If you ever wish to be unblocked, I advise you to read the actual rules before you craft an unblock request. But this has gone on too long. Drmies (talk) 15:19, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You'll get a reply from my attorney. What has gone on too long is your unchecked power trip. I won't ask for a penny court either. The only thing I want from the entire thing is for and @Canterbury Tail to never make another edit on Wikipedia for the rest of your lives. And yes, I will hire the best attorney I can find and I will prove that you slandered me and you broke the rules you banned me for. It works both ways, which you will find out.
