Removing formatting characters and conversion templates

[edit]

Please do not replace & nbsp ; characters with regular spaces, and please leave the unit conversion templates in place of written conversions. - ʄɭoʏɗiaɲ τ ¢ 17:27, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Some of your recent edits

[edit]

I see that you've been removing the {{convert}} template from articles. That template, and other formatting you've removed, follows the MOS for formatting numbers. When a number is linked to a word, like the "98.17" in "98.17 mi" that you changed here, it needs a non-breaking space (HTML code  ) between the number and the unit. That way, if the measurement falls at the end of the line, the "98.17" and the "mi" don't appear on separate lines. A non-breaking space looks like a normal space, but a web browser won't use that as a place to end one line. The {{convert}} template will format the output of a measurement correctly and automatically. Please stop making these changes. Imzadi 1979  17:30, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, agreed. Unfortunately, many of the edits have had to be reverted to restore the conversions and formatting. --Ckatzchatspy 23:08, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Please consider slowing down a bit: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], and [6]. I notice that you sometimes remove red links. Please be sure that they are unlikely to ever become articles before doing so. Red links aren't bad things. Also, please consider using edit summaries. They are very helpful for other editors. Thank you and happy editing. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 11:28, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits, and tick the "minor edit" box when appropriate. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. - Pointillist (talk) 10:34, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on New Mobility Agenda, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article that does not provide sufficient context to identify its subject. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 17:50, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Harrison and the Pendleton Act

[edit]

You changed the caption on the photo in Political Football to claim that the civil rights debate was specifically the Pendleton Act. But, the Pendleton Act was passed into law before Hamilton became President. So, it doesn't make much sense. -- kainaw 00:02, 6 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Dodge Street

[edit]

Dodge Street is in Omaha, Nebraska, not Ohio. You made an edit moving Interstate 680 (Iowa-Nebraska) to become an interstate in Ohio. In the future please don't make edits to articles without reading the article first. • Freechildtalk 14:16, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
