PockBot clone

I was wondering if you had this up and running yet? It says you are waiting for approval on the User:Chris G Bot 2 page, but it has been approved. Once it is up and running could you let me know, Thanks. SpecialWindler talk 11:25, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Are you going to do anything about this, or should I re request it on WP:BOTREQ because it hasn't started yet. SpecialWindler talk (offline) 06:56, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Your recent bot request, Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/Chris G Bot2, has been approved. Thank you, — xaosflux Talk 13:41, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank you Chris

Thanks for your kind words. However, it has not passed yet - it could still turn around... -- Anonymous DissidentTalk 10:11, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Pockbot clone

I don't mean to be a pest or anything, but I see that the meta page you directed me on my talk page, has been approved. This is said on your talk page as well. Can you please alert me to whats going on, it is a clone, which has a mistake but.

And I also notice that you're making a (better ??) clone of Status Bot. Good. Hope it goes well, because it's a great idea. Just in case you didn't know, the have replyed on the RFB page of Chris G Bot 3. SpecialWindler talk (currently offline) 22:43, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

OK, Thanks. Good to see that your doing something, for both PockBot and Status Bot. SpecialWindler talk (currently offline) 03:16, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
OK, Thanks. Can you alert me 1) when it's up and 2) where do I go to use it. It would be greatly appreciated. Good work! Chris G. SpecialWindler talk (currently offline) 08:00, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Bot Australia deletion sorting

An edit tonight at 19.05 by User:145.97.39.143 wiped everything and claimed to be a BOT edit with the same edit summary as your bot had yesterday. I reverted it as it is clearly in error, but I do not understand what is going on. If I am wrong, apologies. --Bduke 09:36, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

That was strange, as the edit was from the toolserver then it was my bot becouse I had just moved it there, being the smart person I am I uploaded an old version of the code onto the server and I had to go off and do something else the bot is stoped now and it shouldn't do that again, thanks for notifying me about the problem. --Chris  G  10:38, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
These things happen. The bot does a great job. Keep up the good work. --Bduke 11:35, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

RFA Thanks!

Thanks for your participation for my RFA bid and for your support.--JForget 23:26, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

Birthday

I was randomly trying to figure out what was going on with StatusBot and came across one of your edits and saw in your userbox that it was your birthday yesterday, so I decided to give you a birthday present- hope you don't mind!

Happy Birthday from the Birthday Committee

Wishing Chris G/Archives/2007/September a very happy birthday on behalf of the Wikipedia Birthday Committee!

Don't forget to save us all a piece of cake!

Cheers,

It wasn't clear what you said to me, but I don't think it said it wasn't working. To me I can't get it too work... It says that it is already being used. But I can't see this how it's happening, due to Chris G Bot 2 having no edits, though you mentioned that and the test you did seems to have been done by someone else. Another reason I think this is really being used is that you haven't advertised this bot to anyone but me (I may be wrong in that).

I then noticed it has "CHRIS BOT 2 ...blah blah... is currently OFFLINE/DISABLED (enable) I clicked enable and came up with error.

Any ideas? Thanks for doing this though! SpecialWindler talk (currently offline) 06:50, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Ahh, It seems to have opened now, I am currently testing the bot on Category:Brisbane Broncos, just in case you want to see if it worked? I attributed my name. If it dosen't work/does work I will alert you. SpecialWindler talk (currently offline) 11:36, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
Hmm, it didn't seem to work ... Here is the message after the page loaded ... ERROR: Login to wikipedia failed: Unknown.. Though it did come up with stuff saying about will load on the category page, but I think that is an automated message. SpecialWindler talk (currently offline) 11:41, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

I hope you soon get this bot up and running. I noticed it worked on two of the pages (the one you referenced me too, and the one you reverted). Maybe it's me or my computer, but ... I don't think so. I am following this bot's development because it is a good bot and I have use for it's functions. Thanks SpecialWindler talk (currently offline) 10:33, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

I just started now, on Category:Brisbane Broncos rugby league players. SpecialWindler talk (currently offline) 10:53, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
Success, mostly. It has stated Finished, which it has not done before. Now all I am waiting for is the results, but it says it may take time, so... Thanks. SpecialWindler talk (currently offline) 11:00, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
Though after 24 hours no bot/user has added this info to the talk page. I don't know how long it is supposed to take, but I don't think it is that long. Thanks for the vandal on my page. SpecialWindler talk (currently offline) 12:35, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
OK, Good luck. I have since done the CGB2 on Category:Brisbane Broncos (I think) and Category:Star Wars episodes (definately). SpecialWindler talk (currently offline) 11:26, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

The reason I tested Category:Star Wars episodes, is because it is small, well known and quick for PockBot to respond. Even with that category (which I saw you reverted quite a bite yesterday (AUS Time)) there seems to be some problems. It responds as if the 6 articles arne't assessed when 5 of them are "FA" status and 1 "A" status. When you did Category:Brisbane Broncos (I also didn't know it did subcategories - you should make that an option??) It only had one assessed, when there should have been quite a few assessed.

I don't know how you retrieve the data, but if it's not by categories. But all assessed articles are put into "Category:XXX-Class YYY articles" (where XXX represents "FA", "A", "GA" ...) and (YYY represents the topic, eg. Star Wars). If you can make it forget the YYY bit, then retrieve the XXX bit. But you may have already done that? But whatever you are doing is clearly not working. The IP bit is a minor bit.

Thanks for continuing your work with this bot!! It's much appreciated. SpecialWindler talk (currently offline) 22:34, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
