Conflict of interest and advertising your institution

Hello, ChrisHaughee. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Adverse Childhood Experiences Study, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). Orangemike, I see you deleted the reference I made in answer to the "who?" question linked to Intermountain Residential's chaplain. That's me. That's why I added the link to the interview Covenant Companion did in their March/April 2018 article. I get that this is an encyclopedia... such a shame to have experts on a subject referencing to their work on an article! Oh well. I give up. Maybe you should read the article I linked to? Maybe you could be compelled to add it as a reference on the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study? I really don't have much extra time to fuss with this. I added the information because a colleague suggested I do so. I clearly don't understand the rationale behind your interpretation of the COI guidelines and the need for someone other than me to link to my work or articles about the ministry. I've certainly stepped into this wiki world, one that clearly has its own rules and culture that I am not able to navigate so well... you're chatting online with a guy who grew up before all this stuff. Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), such as at Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest/Noticeboard, please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( in the enhanced toolbar, or if you use the old "classic" toolbar) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
