See WP:Lead section for some tips, but what you want is a concise 2-3 summary at the very beginning of the article, explaining why the subjec matters. You don't want to do what you did at first, just starting from his birth and going from there, because his childhood isn't what he's famous for. You need to put the absolutely most key point about his whole career right there in the first couple sentences, then after that you can go into a more chronological narrative.
