Snails?
[edit]I've noticed your edits on pages relating to Gastropods; perhaps you'd be interested in joining WikiProject Gastropods? If you would like more information, please visit the project page or the project talk page. |
I wonder if you are perhaps a sea snail fancier? Is your user name taken from Lambis chiragra? Cool! Best wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 23:02, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the note
[edit]Hi again Chiragra, nice to "meet" you! I am in NYC. Volutes are really beautiful but a lot of them live in deep water and are hard to observe. Have you seen any live ones in your neck of the woods? And if I may ask, what part of plant phylogeny are you working on? It's a big subject to say the least!
If you are curious about WikiProject Gastropods, here are some links: you might maybe want to look at our "Portal", which is here [1]. Our project page is here [2]. The project talk page is here [3] and a list of our most accessed pages telling how many people have looked at each of them, how many people per day look at them, and so on, is here [4].
Project Gastropods is doing well. We have about 6,500 articles, and more coming in almost every day. The great majority of the articles are now more or less up to date on their taxonomy. All but a thousand of the articles are very short however; we call those stub articles. However some of them do at least have an image, which helps! The project has 26 articles that are really quite good, rated B, Good Article or A. One of the good articles is Love dart, which a lot of people have enjoyed reading.
As you can see from the article Volutidae, we still need a lot more coverage on that family... so if you are inspired to do anything, writing, pictures, you name it, please feel free and... Be Bold!
If you have any questions at all, and/or if I can help you get the hang of how to do things here, please let me know.
All best wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 22:05, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
P.S. I would be very happy to have you sign up as a member of the project, that is if you are at all tempted to do that... Invertzoo (talk) 22:06, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks!
[edit]Thanks for the new volute genus articles! They look really good and you put them together fast. Actually I did not realize until right now that you have been adding volute articles since 2007! Well done, well done and thanks. We do need more coverage on all of the marine families of gastropods. If you need any help with anything or have any questions, feel free to ask me. So, do you want me to add your name to the list of members on the Gastropods Project? It's OK if you would rather not, but it seems like you deserve it. Anyhow, all good wishes, Invertzoo (talk) 21:39, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
