Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 20:44, 26 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

November 2012

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Sherry Chayat. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. SudoGhost 22:07, 26 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning; the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Sherry Chayat with this edit, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. MadGuy7023 (talk) 22:11, 26 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

So I am allowed one warning...NICEChimon21 (talk) 22:20, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

I am new to wiki and will do my best to learn your protocols from this point forward. However, one thing I am not new to is journalistic integrity and principles. I can understand the site shimanoarchives.com is used to bring about the dealings of Eido Shimano Roshi whom, in my opinion, is a very sick man. So be it...But when an undocumented anonymous .pdf shows up claiming to be an email thread between two people (neither of which are Eido) on that site and and editor at wiki wants to use it against a student of Eido...that is in and of itself...poor journalism and can be considered... borderline Trolling.

All I asked for from the editor was proof of it's validity...they said that because it came from that site it makes it so. it is a .com, not a .org or a .gov...anybody can make a site and say anything they want...that is why we are a "free" society. But what structures are in place there to assure journalistic integrity I ask?

My point is...The Eido scandal is true. He is a sick man that has abused his authority. Fine...do what you need to do to discredit him but to post unverified, unsubstantiated alleged emails between two parties that are not Shimano about others that are not him...is not acceptable journalisticChimon21 (talk) 11:56, 27 November 2012 (UTC) behavior for even the likes of Fox News. Wiki has an opportunity to really set some basic journalistic standards and I look forward to becoming apart of this community.Chimon21 (talk) 11:53, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that's clear language - a "mission statement", so to speak. Some good advice: expand your user-profile. I first thought your were a WP:SOCK, defending Shimano. The use of numbers in your user-name doesn't help in this respect. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Raul7213/Archive to get an impression why. Increasing your user-profile, including part of the above statement, helps to counter such impressions.
You can also make subpages for specific topics, for example "Tools" with shortcuts to protocols etc, and "Sources" for sources you use. See User:Joshua Jonathan for examples. Joshua Jonathan (talk) 20:17, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
