Belize Bird Rescue
[edit]Hi, you appear to have a conflict on interest in relation to a new article that you have created: Belize Bird Rescue. I conclude this because:
- At Commons:Village pump/Copyright#Belize Bird Rescue logo you say "I'm an owner of the logo", referring to the Belize Bird Rescue logo.
- You have previously used the user name "Belizebirdrescue", see Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple/Archive185#Belizebirdrescue → Chilibeak
You should not edit or create pages with which you have a conflict of interest, see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide.
I suggest you add a statement of your connection to Belize Bird Rescue on your user page. I think you should also add {{connected contributor}} with the appropriate parameters to Talk:Belize Bird Rescue.
If you have any questions then I suggest using the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard.

OK, I did the requested changes, hopefully thy right way..?
- Thank you. Talk:Belize Bird Rescue looks fine, but you haven't made a declaration on your user page. I suggest something like "I work for Belize Bird Rescue" (or "I am a trustee of...", "I am a volunteer for...", as appropriate). You don't need to reveal you identity by specifying a specific role. Editors may look for this when reviewing Belize Bird Rescue, to establish the nature of your connection. Verbcatcher (talk) 20:17, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, please don't think that I am harassing you at Commons:Village pump/Copyright#Belize Bird Rescue logo, my motivation there is to protect Wikimedia from improperly-licenced content.
For this logo it is probably best to upload it to English Wikipedia (which has different rules from Wikipedia Commons), and declare it as non-free media with a fair use rationale, see Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline. I suggest you upload the file using Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard and add a non-free use rationale, which you could base on File:Royal Society for the Protection of Birds logo.svg.
This would protect the copyright on the logo, which might prevent conflict with your employers. Uploading it to commons allows anyone to use it in ways that your organisation could not control. Verbcatcher (talk) 21:04, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
OK, I think I'm done.. Thanks for guiding me.

- That looks good. The last step is to nominate Commons:File:BBR logo.png for deletion, by clicking on the Nominate for deletion link. Give as the reason something like "Copyrighted image (see http://belizebirdrescue.org/ ) unlikely to qualify under the threshold of originality rule. Nominated by uploader". I could nominate it, but it is probably better for you to do so. Verbcatcher (talk) 22:39, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
