Translations from German Wikipedia

[edit]

Hi Chianti90 and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I think you will find that I have addressed any copyright concerns on the talk pages of the relevant articles. As far as I understand Wikipedia policy, it is acceptable to translate the good work of authors on other Wikipedias provided there is the normal attribution on the talk page. Please let me and other editors know if you think the attribution has been missed out and we will put it right. Cheers. --Bermicourt (talk) 19:20, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Chianti90, importation is not required at the English Wikipedia for article translation. (Importation is generally a good idea, but it is optional.) An accepted method of attribution is to add a talk page banner, and to make a note in the edit history. The German Wikipedia includes the provision "Du stimmst einer Autorennennung mindestens durch URL oder Verweis auf den Artikel zu." before you click okay in the edit box, indicating that a URL is sufficient for attribution. Therefore articles lacking import are not copyright violations -- please do not blank any further. If you would like to request (optional) importations, please make requests at WP:IMP.
