User page
[edit]Hey. I took the layout for my user page from somebody else. A lot of people seem to be using this format, so as far as I'm concerned it's fair use. I also like the Nip/Tuck userbox. Jtrost 20:37, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
re: User:UBX/24
[edit]As I noted in my edit summary, I'd like to see the second part of the 24 userbox be in that font (BankGothic Md BT?) they always use before each and every episode where they advise discretion, if you know what I'm talking about. Can you help with this? Questions, go to the talk page. — Ian Manka Talk to me‼ 04:57, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
Anti-recycling
[edit]Why don't people like recycling? Honest question, this has always bugged me. Mrtea (talk) 04:34, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

It was actually content
[edit]It was actually a content-based, non-commercial link There were no commercial endorsements, but now the site has coupons on it, so I guess it's all as well.

Disputed fair use rationale for File:MartinInvestigativeServicesLogo.gif}
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:MartinInvestigativeServicesLogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Martin Investigative Services
[edit]Mmm, sorry, but it's pretty obvious that the article exists solely to promote the company. I recommend you read WP:SPAMMER. There are no independent references and no evidence of notability. If you can show me some, I'll be only too happy to reconsider. Until then, your best option is Wikipedia:Deletion review. Deb (talk) 20:10, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Hollywood-wiretap.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Hollywood-wiretap.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ronhjones (Talk) 22:48, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
Notification of automated file description generation
[edit]Your upload of File:Bowling.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.
This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! - Another one of your uploads, File:Chucknorris ub.jpg, has also had some information automatically added. If you get a moment, please review the bot's contributions there as well. Thanks! Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 14:36, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
