A welcome from Sango123

[edit]

Hello, Cheesia, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We're glad to have you in our community! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful.

Happy editing!

P.S. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need help with anything or simply wish to say hello. :)

Hi there

[edit]

Hi there, you may or may not have noticed that I removed your question about how to start your own wiki, as it was posted in the wrong place - the discussion page for the Main Page of Wikipedia. If you have a question, check Wikipedia:Questions, or have a look around the Village pump.

In answer to your question, a good place to start for your own wiki would be Wikicities (link). More info on MediaWiki (the software Wikipedia uses) can be found here.

Hope this helps - if you have any questions, please leave me a message on my talk page.

Cheers! Nuge | talk 00:18, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I found the page. I want to make a Spongebob Squarepants fanstuff wiki. Do I have to ask the creator for permission? Cheesia EDIT: Could I please have a response? Cheesia EDIT: I could use some help please. Cheesia EDIT: Answer please. Cheesia

You know, people might not be around... we aren't all here 24/7. ;) Nuge, and Sango123, will respond to you when they can. (I'd answer your question, but I don't know the answer... sorry.) You may want to try Wikipedia:Help desk or Wikipedia:Reference desk/Miscellaneous. Hbackman 02:20, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I wasn't around when you left me those messages. ;) Someone has answered your question at the reference desk. Please respond there for any further discussion on the topic. Thanks! Cheers, Sango123 (e) 05:27, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I was offline as well, sorry! Hope your question has been answered now. (If it hasn't, a useful page to check would be Comparison of wiki farms - a wiki farm is a website hosting several personal wikis, often free ones.) If ever you need immediate help in the future and no-one seems to be replying, simply enter {{helpme}} on your talk page, and someone will be along to help you eventually. Thanks!
