Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Cheese editor, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Draft:Potato empire, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at the our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions ask me on my talk page or you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Greyjoy talk 07:04, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not create hoaxes on Wikipedia, as you did at Draft:Potato empire. Doing so is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Your submission at Articles for creation: Potato empire (May 27)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Novem Linguae was: Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. I reverted your "fire truck" edits because it goes against the consensus already reached. The article Fire truck redirects to Fire engine and the latter is clear that "fire truck" is an alternative phrase. You should let it lie at that. If you feel strongly otherwise then please start a discussion at Talk:Fire engine to see if there is any consensus for change. Thanks. --10mmsocket (talk) 08:12, 2 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You really need to read Wikipedia:Consensus before making any similar edits to Fire engine. --10mmsocket (talk) 07:08, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A page block and a warning

[edit]

You have been blocked for one month from the article Fire engine and its talkpage, as you have disrupted both.

Stop referring to good faith edits you disagree with as "vandalism". That's a personal attack; please see WP:VANDAL. If you do that again, or otherwise insult people, you will be temporarily blocked from the whole site. Bishonen | tålk 08:42, 10 June 2021 (UTC).[reply]

@Cheese editor: Another point to note is that 10 mins is too short a time period to wait for feedback on Wikipedia. Lavalizard101 (talk) 11:17, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Cheese editor, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
