Hi I saw that you recently blocked User:Xoncha as a sockpuppet. I went through and deleted his page pursuant to WP:G5. However, the editor User:Nicat49 was seemingly able to recreate both 2017 Women's European Volleyball Championship and Anar Mammadkhanov, sources and all, presumably without access to the deleted edits. Further this edit immediately follows Xoncha's editing and this restored Xoncha's edit. I don't know the basis for the block well but what do you think of an SPI report? -- Ricky81682 (talk) 08:54, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- Certainly worth an SPI report, but it'll probably have to be a behavioural comparison - CheckUser won't help here! Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (Message me) 13:07, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
Old socking case
Hello Chase, back in 2011 you carried out an Arbcom unblock of The Last Angry Man (talk · contribs), who had been blocked as a sock of Marknutley (talk · contribs). Would you please take a look at WP:Sockpuppet investigations/Marknutley, where fresh evidence about this (now long dormant) account has been assembled in light of new information about a more recent, self-admitted Marknutley sock, Darkness Shines (talk · contribs). I believe with the behavioral data from the DS account taken into account, the behavioral similarity is nothing short of overwhelming, and the TLAM account should be re-blocked to set the record straight. - I'm not overly interested in this, but I'm considerably less impressed with it all. There is a convincing case being made by FPaS and others at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Marknutley that ArbCom unblocked someone who was fairly clearly evading an Arbitration Committee imposed block/ban. There are now allegations that ArbCom was presented with sufficient evidence, which was dismissed at the time, so can someone please explain, in quite some detail, what is going on, and why ArbCom accepted his appeal. - Hi Nick, I'll look into this when I have time. In the meantime, please don't restore content from Russavia. Both he and his friends have made my real life a nightmare for the past two years and I don't really want his words on this page; it's quite upsetting! Nevertheless I will look back through my emails and see what I can see. Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (Message me) 12:29, 20 November 2014 (UTC)
- Any update ? Thanks. Nick (talk) 17:01, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
- No update, but you're able to go sock hunting. Fair enough. Nick (talk) 12:02, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- Nick, I updated the page at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Marknutley rather than here - sorry, I thought you were watching both :-) Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (Message me) 15:17, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- Got it now, I hadn't realised that there wasn't more to report on the situation, although it was such a long time ago it's entirely understandable. I see the SPI has now been closed, TLAM blocked, so everything looks good at the moment - all's well that ends well, though I'd guess Mark is probably working on another sock, which we will need to look out for in the new year. Nick (talk) 15:36, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- Yeah, I suspect ArbCom cases and decisions will always come back to haunt me! As for socks, yes, they all come back after a few months and I suspect TLAM will be no different. He'll be relatively easy to spot now though. Bless them all! Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (Message me) 15:41, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

CampMinsi (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) You blocked this user a while ago. While that may have been a correct decision, could you please unblock them and offer them the chance to change their name? Thank you. --evrik (talk) 18:48, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

View of London that I photographed and told you about ...
Richard,
Happy Holidays! Remember at the functionaries' party that evening at Wikimania when I told you about what I'd been doing in London (and Macclesfield) the days beforehand? About how I'd gone to Maritime Greenwich after getting off the plane on Monday and been emotionally overwhelmed by the view of London from the observatory, thinking about the Blitz and "Goodbye Blue Sky"? And how I took some pictures that captured that view?
Well, I have finally gotten the one of them that I liked best edited and uploaded to Commons (right). I think you'll be able to see what I was seeing; and quite likely you won't be the only one. And, of course, if WM-UK wants to use it for anything, I'd be flattered. Daniel Case (talk) 03:41, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

The image you used to replace mine is also copyright. What is the difference between them? The MoD has allowed its use under the Open Government Licence, and the Office of Public Sector Information had waived copyright over my image. Richard75 (talk) 11:49, 21 December 2014 (UTC)
DYK for London Fields Brewery
On 22 December 2014, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article London Fields Brewery, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that when it opened in 2011, London Fields Brewery was the first commercial brewery to be opened in Hackney since the 19th century? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/London Fields Brewery. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |
