Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, BASICS HQ. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Drm310 🍁 (talk) 16:26, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

[edit]If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.
Thank you. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 16:53, 31 December 2018 (UTC)Your username
[edit]Hi, I'm an admin here and I'm afraid your username violates our policy because we don't allow usernames that are the names of companies/organisations/etc, in this case BASICS. You'll need to create a new account or request a username change before you do anything else, otherwise another admin is likely to block your account until that's done. Please feel free to contact me on my talk page or by email if you have questions and I'll do my best to help. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:53, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
- You also put on your user page that "Owned and managed by the team at the British Association for Immediate Care (BASICS)." Please be aware that Wikipedia's policies never allow accounts to be shared. An account can only be accessed by the same single individual for its entire lifetime. If there are multiple people at your organization who want to edit Wikipedia, then each person will need to create their own account. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 17:40, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
