Colorado Rangers

[edit]

Hi! I noticed you repeatedly inserted the Colorado Rangers as a special district on the Colorado article. I am actually intimately familiar with the Ranger history through research into their early activities and would welcome their more thorough inclusion on the state article. However, a cursory search revealed no reliable sourcing regarding their definition as a special district. Regardless of whether it is easily googled, you have to use a source to add information like that to an article. No one properly welcomed you to Wikipedia, so you likely were never sent you the useful link to FIVEPILLARS, a very handy resource for new editors. If you have questions or want help, please let me know. If you find a source on the Colorado Rangers special district, please add the info back to the article with the source. Thanks! ~ Pbritti (talk) 02:24, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm interested where you searched...

I'll work on a more thorough inclusion, It'll take a few weeks before I try to tackle that. I'm working on other edits.
Thanks. Chadclifford (talk) 05:32, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Senate Bill 16-111 created a task force to study the Rangers, that task force recommended a new government structure. Multiple municipalities formed a new government (also know as a district) and moved the Rangers back into full law enforcement service. Senate bill 17-096 gave the new agency $800,000 to pay for police academies and stand up the agency. I'll be updating quite a bit about them, and following them through the next legislative session as well.
If you have useful history, I'd love to know what you have. I'll be working on some of those updates as well. I have quite a bit, so far. Chadclifford (talk) 05:41, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'd love to help as I can. That directory of districts is very helpful but my goodness is it an extended list. If we're gonna feature the Rangers, I want to see if we can find something perhaps a little more narrowly focused on them. I'm sure there's something out there, and what you posted is a start! Thanks! I'll let you know about what I can do history-wise because most of my material is pre-1941. ~ Pbritti (talk) 06:40, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
