Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Iti Mrinalini. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. BOVINEBOY2008 17:22, 18 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of William Shakespeare screen adaptations, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bengali. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Non-free rationale for File:Rong Beronger Korhi poster.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Rong Beronger Korhi poster.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:07, 10 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you altering the content about the history of the development of the film and making random edit alterations. It is a critically acclaimed film and how can you alter that information? It has been released in 2018 and how can you change it to 2017? It has a shared history of information available on the public domain. How can you change and delete all of that?

The use of "critically acclaimed" goes against WP:PEACOCK, the film premiered in 2017 at the Dubai Film Festival per this very article. Do not edit without explanation! BOVINEBOY2008 18:02, 10 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Also, none of the information is under public domain. All content needs to be supported by reliable independent sources. BOVINEBOY2008 18:04, 10 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So if a film is an acclaimed one and has been hailed by the critics, and there is proof of that, you mean to say one can't mention that?! Each and every information has a reference tagged thereafter. And every information is there in reliable public domain. Can you kindly go through them before chopping off facts?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Certifiedfilmbuff (talkcontribs)

Dear Ponyo, if you so hate interrupting, please abstain from doing so. While I do thank the long-standing editor for improving the content of this article, and for doing his best to uphold Wikipedia's policies, I find it galling that genuine reviews of the film in English language with valid reference tagged alongside are being edited out. For what reason, may I ask? Certifiedfilmbuff (talkcontribs)

It would be poor form to block you without ensuring that you are aware of the various policy violations you continue to make. I linked to them in my message and there are numerous other concerns raised above. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 17:14, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Hrid Majharey. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Xover (talk) 09:08, 14 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

So what do I do when someone abruptly edits out information like important reviews of my film that are available in the public domain for no good reason?
When editors disagree on a content matter they should discuss the issue on the article’s talk page. You should make arguments for your position that are based in policy, and that address the concerns raised by the other editor in their edit summary. —Xover (talk) 12:23, 15 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi. You're copying far too much verbatim from sources. Please be more careful in future. It would be advisable to draft your articles and submit them for review so that any issues can be spotted before they go into mainspace. Deb (talk) 04:24, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Deb, the material I had 'copied' were excerpts of reviews about the film Mahishasur Marddini written and directed by me. The sources of those reviews were cited alongside as well. Please advise if that was against Wikipedia rules. Thanks. Certifiedfilmbuff (talk) 08:19, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it's wrong to copy the excerpts. You can include quotations, but not the way you've done it. They must not be made to appear part of the article text. You duplicated the quotations, without quotation marks, within the text, and that is wrong. Deb (talk) 14:01, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your kind guidance. Much appreciated. Warmest. Certifiedfilmbuff (talk) 19:39, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Ahaa Re Poster.jpg

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Mahishasur Marddini - A Night to Remember. Thanks! Deb (talk) 08:15, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Deb, as you must be knowing my now, I am inexperienced as a Wiki editor. Hence all the goof-ups. I read your comment but I don't know how to declare my conflict of interest. However, I have removed the promotional wording from the article and have submitted for review. Can you please check if it is okay? Your kind guidance is much appreciated. Warmest. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mahishasura Mardini, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bengali. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Information icon Hi Certifiedfilmbuff! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Mahishasur Marddini - A Night to Remember that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. - Sumanuil.
