If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Certain(horse) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ♦ Tentinator ♦ 21:54, 10 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:DCM. But please make sure the horse meet's Wikipedia's notability guidelines (I don't know if WP:ATHLETE would be applicable, but it wouldn't hurt to read that too), and know that if you are involved with the horse creating the article may well be a conflict of interest. Thank you! —Ignatzmicetalkcontribs 01:22, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Also see WP:TONE: articles should be written in the third person. It's a good idea to read WP:FIRST as well. —Ignatzmicetalkcontribs 01:29, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article about the horse...

[edit]

has been moved to your "user-space": User:Certain99/Certain (racehorse), because there are still significant issues with it and it is therefore not ready to be in the main "article-space" quite yet.

  • First of all, if you are the creator of the Facebook page, as you say, you must update https://www.facebook.com/Certain99/info as explained at WP:DCM. This allows Wikipedia to use that text. If this isn't done soon, the page will most likely get re-nominated as a copyright violation.
  • As I said before, you should also re-write it in the third person and make it "encyclopedic" (see WP:TONE).
  • Please make sure the horse meets WIkipedia's notability guidelines (WP:NOTE and WP:SPORTCRIT).
  • Because of your apparent closeness to the horse, you should also review Wikipedia's conflict of interest guidelines (WP:COI) and neutral point of view policy (WP:NPOV). In particular, note that Wikipedia is not a forum for original research (WP:NOR), so make sure you have good external sources (WP:SOURCE) for your article.
  • For help on formatting references and footnotes, see WP:CITE.

Thank you, and happy editing! —Ignatzmicetalkcontribs 05:41, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh-ho! I see you have already created the page User:Certain99/Certain (horse). That page looks much better. You're well on your way (but please do check out the links above). —Ignatzmicetalkcontribs 05:45, 14 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Horse

[edit]

In the past 24 hours I've been accused of working for a rival web scraping software manufacturer and of representing a rival racehorse by two editors with conflicts of interest. I must have some very diverse interests and activities. You appear to have taken a step back and started to understand that first-person articles promoting companies, people or animals are not acceptable, nor are personal attacks or conflict-of-interest accusations (from editors with obvious conflicts of interest) when such material is rightly deleted. Please develop the more appropriate version you've already started in your sandbox, and please remember that promotion is unacceptable, and its deletion is by policy, not enmity. Please review the conflict of interest policy, and remember that while you are not prevented from editing with a COI, you must scrupulously observe the rules. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Certain(horse) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
