Miss Universe 2024[edit]

Good day, this is regarding your recent edits on Miss Universe 2024. I get that you're trying to contribute, but you're actually making the article worse by adding too much details, and by modifying the information that's not to your agreement, which includes removing reliable references. Note that this counts as disruptive behavior and may cause your account to get suspended. For more info regarding this wiki rule see WP:GF.

And regarding your usage of Instagram as sources, while it is okay to use it as source of proof, it is not okay to use it as the sole basis on WP:V since Instagram like most social media sites are not considered reliable sites for references and citations. Try to practice searching the web for news articles.

I hope you take these advices well for a better contribution to Wikipedia. Milesq (talk) 02:57, 8 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Catia108 In regards to this, please stop adding MissUUpdates from Instagram as your source for information in the references. They are not affiliated with Miss Universe, and therefore is not a good source of information regardless if it is accurate since they are a pageant blog. For more information check Wikipedia:WikiProject Beauty Pageants/Sources for guidelines on how to use Instagram as a reference properly. Milesq (talk) 12:06, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Naming conventions in Wikipedia[edit]

Hi, please be aware of the naming rules that Wikipedia imposes regarding the names of countries as per WP:COMMONNAME. This means whatever name the organization (even the likes of United Nations) uses for that country, the common name for that country found in news articles will be followed by Wikipedia, and as such by all articles.

This also why South Korea is used rather than Korea and United States instead of USA despite it being the ones used by MUO. So please, stop changing Turkey to Türkiye; DRC to Congo-Kinshasa, and Fiji to Rep. of Fiji. Sticking to what the pageant uses does not mean being encyclopedic. The article is not only for pageant fans.

Please refrain from making further unencyclopedic changes that may result you in being banned. This is just helpful advice if you want to keep editing. Milesq (talk) 16:48, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Catia108[edit]

References[edit]

You keep on using unreliable sources for information (Angelopedia, MissUUpdates) despite knowing well they are blacklisted on Wikipedia's source list, and you are vandalizing the page more than you think you're helping. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Beauty Pageants/Sources to PROPERLY find sources and not rely on blogs and Instagram pages. Milesq (talk) 09:07, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

July 2024[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Miss Universe 2024, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please note that Wikipedia has it's own standards which may not be the same as your's.
