The article Politics and Pop Culture In the United States has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- This has more the character of the beginnings of an essay or personal reflection than an objuective article.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JamesBWatson (talk) 13:44, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Politics and pop culture in the US
[edit]Caseydud, hi, I'm one of the online ambassadors for your class. I see that the article you've started has been nominated for deletion; it's because so far there's not much content there. You've defined politics and defined popular culture, but there's no content that discusses the intersection of the two, and nothing to show that this particular topic receives any attention in reliable sources.
Can you find some sources that specifically tie the two things together? I did a quick Google Books search and found John Street's Politics and Popular Culture, but I don't know that book and don't know if it would be a good source for you. I also wonder if it's necessary to add "in the United States" to the article; what about just an article titled "Politics and popular culture"? (Or "Politics and pop culture" if that makes a difference.)
I'll leave a note for your campus ambassador, and your instructor too. Drop me a note on my talk page or by email (via this link) if you have any questions. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 00:40, 14 October 2011 (UTC)

MfD nomination of User:Caseydud/Sandbox
[edit]User:Caseydud/Sandbox, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Caseydud/Sandbox and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Caseydud/Sandbox during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you.
Note: This is not to be confused with User:Caseydud/Politics and Pop Culture In the United States. Only User:Caseydud/Sandbox is being considered for deletion now. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 02:29, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- Hi. I have deleted your sandbox page, because the article has been properly "userfied" to User:Caseydud/Politics and Pop Culture In the United States. The point is that if the article eventually finds its way back to the main encyclopedia, it is important to preserve the contribution history, which we are required by the license terms to maintain, and a cut and paste move such as you did loses that history. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:55, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, the cut and paste move was done by somebody else, but it would still have been a problem no matter who was responsible. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 15:32, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
