Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~)
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to this (your talk) page, and a timestamp.
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put
{{My sandbox}}
on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.Sincerely, Jax 0677 (talk) 17:10, 17 October 2013 (UTC) (Leave me a message)
Edit summaries
[edit]Thanks for your contribs! I noticed though, that you tend to put four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your edit summaries. This is pointless, since when placed in an edit summary it does not convert to your signature and all edits are marked with the user's name and the date automatically. You only need sign on talk pages. For more information see WP:SIGNHERE. Thank you! Eman235/talk 04:42, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
Adopt
[edit]Hi, I have noticed that you are seeking to be adopted. Let me know if you think I can help. You may leave me a message clicking here --Tito Dutta (talk) 14:17, 23 January 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Adopt-a-user
[edit]Hello. This is a courtesy note to inform you that I have removed one of the two "adopt me" templates you have on display (i.e. from your User Talk page.) You still have one on your main user page and the presnce of two misleads potential Adopters into thinking that there are more people than there actually are who are seeking assistance. (They're all listed [[Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user]|here]], and I'm trying to clean up the irrelevant templates from over 100 user's pages. Do please delete the other one if you should cease wanting assistance of this sort. For simple questions about editing, just ask any of us at The Teahouse. The Elephant's Foot Suggestion
[edit]Hey there User:Cartermassey. You recently added content to the Elephant's Foot article and disagreed with the statement that the radiation dosage is lethal. I took the "invariably lethal" quote straight from the Rad (unit) article, as many reputable sources cite the roentgen dosage as approximately 8000, which when converted to rads is far above the "invariably lethal" dosage of 1000 rads.
I agree with the fact that Artur Kornayev is important, but not in this article as a person who just photographed the mass nor as a person who survived a high dosage of radiation. Additionally, I would suggest added more reputable and better cited sources than bare URLs. Look at the Template:Cite web for citation tips and at the Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources page for source tips. I like to search Google books for some sources, maybe look there.
I'm going to remove the Artur Kornayev section, but feel free to add it back if you find any meaningful connection between him and the Elephant's Foot mass besides his photograph. Information such as his job position or cataracts would be better suited for his own article.
Thanks! Pagliaccious (talk) 13:11, 22 August 2018 (UTC)
^Thankfully time has vindicated me and borne out my change. Artur is back and after multiple attempts you seem to have given up on trying to remove him from the article
