Hi, Can you please explain why it is different to this article? Warsash Maritime School - Wikipedia
This has Portsmouth News and Superyacht News references; Blackpool Gazette (local newspaper was deemed not suitable as references in the Fleetwood article). Some references on this article are to it's own website - Warsash Maritime School. How s this a trusted, independent source? References 7-13 relate to a source Aldridge, M. H. (1996). A history of the Southampton School of Navigation. The Southampton Institute. The link here is broken so the reference can't be accessed or verified.
The Warsash article is written in a similar style - the style was intentionally copied in the Fleetwood post to ensure compliance with Wikipedia standards. Some specific examples of why The Fleetwood article does not comply would be helpful. Caroline at Fleetwood Nautical Campus (talk) 09:21, 29 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Caroline at Fleetwood Nautical Campus, apologies for the delay in reply to you.
We do not compare drafts to existing articles: unfortunately Wikipedia has many millions of poor quality articles, many of which would not be accepted if submitted today. As we're a volunteer project no one has gotten around to improving / deleting them.
The key policy at Wikipedia is verifiably. A lot of your draft has no in-line citations, so readers have no idea if the information written is true. My advise is to first find some reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the college (newspapers, TV shows, books, etc), then build an article by paraphrasing from them.
