User talk:Caro de Segeda
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Caro de Segeda, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Simon Davies (linguist), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.
Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

Speedy deletion nomination of Simon Davies (linguist)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Simon Davies (linguist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Spiderone 10:54, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- I have declined this deletion request as there are claims of notability in the article. However it is completely unsourced, and sources are immediately required for this article not to be deleted. See the below notice for details. Espresso Addict (talk) 11:07, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
The article Simon Davies (linguist) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Espresso Addict (talk) 11:07, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the message on my talk page, replying here to keep the advice together. In the short term, all you need to do is add at least one reliable source (books, magazines, newspapers or similar) that supports any of the claims in the article. Another admin will review at the end of the week. Note that in the longer term, at least two or different three references are required for all articles and biographies of living people must have sources for all content. There is a wikiproject for created languages, WP:WikiProject Constructed languages, who might be able to help out. I will tag them on the talk page for you. Regards, Espresso Addict (talk) 11:25, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- I have added some references now. Thanks for your help. --Caro de Segeda (talk) 11:26, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- Please could you replace the YouTube and Amazon references? As per WP:RS, these sources do not meet our requirements on being a reliable source. Whilst Elefen is a reliable source, I am concerned that it is not an independent source due to Davies' obvious connection with that organisation. Does he receive any independent news or book coverage that could be added? I have tagged the article as a sourcing concern for now. Please let me know when these concerns have been addressed and I will remove the tags. Spiderone 12:00, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- I am Simon Davies, and I certainly don't think I merit an article in the English Wikipedia. This article was added without consulting me first, and I would honestly prefer it to be deleted. Sajmĉjo (talk) 12:32, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- In that case, there is nothing to discuss. Please delete the article. --Caro de Segeda (talk) 12:34, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

Interlingue-Union moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Interlingue-Union, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Concern regarding Draft:Interlingue-Union
[edit]Hello, Caro de Segeda. This is a bot-delivered message letting you know that Draft:Interlingue-Union, a page you created, has not been edited in at least 5 months. Drafts that have not been edited for six months may be deleted, so if you wish to retain the page, please edit it again or request that it be moved to your userspace.
If the page has already been deleted, you can request it be undeleted so you can continue working on it.
Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia. FireflyBot (talk) 05:06, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
Hawaiian Wiki Help
[edit]Hi! Sorry I never responded to your post on my talk page.
It seems the problem stems from a poorly-informed or over-confident speaker of Portuguese who doesn't actually speak Hawaiian[[1]].
Hopefully, I can (eventually) fix things, but I recommend that these articles be reverted to their original versions or deleted. Naea; Hale o Keawe (talk) 00:41, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for your answer. I think this should be explained to an administrator there. Maybe you could add the template {{delete}} to the articles that are not in proper Hawaiian and explain the situation to him. I am sorry I cannot help ypu with this because I don't speak Hawaiian. The guy who wrote those articles was blocked. Caro de Segeda (talk) 06:37, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of Edgar de Wahl
[edit]Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Edgar de Wahl you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by ChristieBot, on behalf of Amitchell125 -- Amitchell125 (talk) 18:04, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
- What happened? It's Frzzl I wrote to about getting involved with this article in the middle of the review, but it was you who apologized! I don't understand... Regards, Amitchell125 (talk) 08:21, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
- I thought you referred to me. Frzzl just did some changes in the introduction of the article, as per you comment:
- The lead needs to be shortened, as per MOS:LEADLENGTH (“the lead should usually be no longer than four paragraphs”). As of 23 April, the article is 24,112 characters long, suggesting that the article’s lead should have no more than three paragraphs.
- I am not an English native speaker so I asked him for some help regarding that so I believe it is my fault as he was just helping me out with that correction, which I asked him to do. Caro de Segeda (talk) 08:24, 24 April 2023 (UTC)
- That's great, I now understand. I will be less heavy handed if I see future edits made by Frzzl. Regards, Amitchell125 (talk) 12:51, 24 April 2023 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Edgar de Wahl
[edit]The article Edgar de Wahl you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Edgar de Wahl and Talk:Edgar de Wahl/GA1 for issues which need to be addressed. Your GA nomination of Edgar de Wahl
[edit]The article Edgar de Wahl you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Edgar de Wahl for comments about the article, and Talk:Edgar de Wahl/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
[edit] Hi Caro de Segeda! Thank you for your edits to Interlingue grammar. It looks like you've copied or moved text from Interlingue into that page, and while you are welcome to re-use the content, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). . If you've copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thanks! DanCherek (talk) 03:01, 11 May 2023 (UTC)

Request for Help
[edit]Hi Caro de Segeda,
I have translated this article here using Google Translate based on the original English Wikipedia article version of course.
Could you please help me proofread that translated Spanish version and help fix the grammatical mistakes that you encounter on that talk page before I create that article on Spanish Wikipedia? (you can make as many spelling and/or grammar corrections on my talk page there).
Your help would be appreciated in full. --Philip J (talk) 07:02, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
