Article Evaluations

[edit]

Everything seems mostly relevant, I got distracted at some points where this article tried to implement examples that did not flow clearly within the text. Such as the part talking about nomadic migration, the osmosis comparison, and the Turkish example under the section titled "Lee"

The article provides a vast lists of theories, providing different perspectives and views. However towards the end it does make a claim, "Therefore, migration occurs..." It could have been phrased in a way saying that in that particular theory migration occurs, rather than stating this is sole reason it occurs

There are many vies overrepresented such as the theories that are the beginning of the article which tend to have more information and description about them. Like the one under the section "Lee" has it owns example, while other theories under the section "Other models" are just linked in and not even discussed at all.

Most of the citations in the beginning of the article are legitimate but some of them are not are linked to other websites that are not official and do not contribute to anything in the text, for example the Global Commission on International Migration link, citation 11

Some facts have legitimate sources but for the Osmosis migration theory, this theory is linked to an unreliable source because it a draft paper not an official publication, lacking the credibility needed to consist of a theory.

Yes some information is out of date, in the beginning of the article it says that the World Bank publishes annually about Migration and Remittances, yet it continues to use information from 2011

Some of the main conversations that are going on, on the Talk page are that the information is outdated and that it focuses too much on the historical aspect of my migration versus also integrating modern migration.

This article is rated a C-Class and involved in many WikiProjects such as WikiProject Archaeology, Anthroplogy, and Genetic History and many more

The way this article is discussing the topic mainly listing all the theories and giving descriptions, versus in class where are trying to connect theories together and critique the different aspects of theories are why they might not work, basically keeping each theory in conversation with another.
