Bank de-risking moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Bank de-risking, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 07:16, 2 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Capital W, Many thanks for starting this new article. This topic could be an interesting addition to Wikipedia, however it will need to be carefully sourced given the multi-faceted nature of the topic. I have therefore moved it to draft space to further work on it. I'm happy to be involved in improving the article. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 07:18, 2 August 2019 (UTC)

No problem (talk) -- my battery ran out mid-edit; then the location changed, so I'll start over and keep at it. Cheers!
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Capital W. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Natalia Ledoux, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 06:28, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
COI
[edit]No problems.
I generally only contribute towards things I know a great deal about. It helps with the accuracy. I believe, deeply in Wikipedia as a global resource for good. It's a lot less useful if you have people vaguely connected to topics committing expertise, as the COI suggests, or vigilantism deleting things before they get a chance. I like the "draft" sections. It's a good improvement. I sense from here, more needs to be done.
The way to resolve bias you are worried about in the COI post, is to have a community of editors contributing balanced content. Not people deleting articles before they have had that chance.
I don't know deeply enough the problems of Wikipedia, to comment much further, but sense that this is, possibly on both sides, representative of these fundamental challenges facing the service.
Best of luck,
Capital W. Capital W (talk) 08:13, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Capital W, Thanks for your response, though this does not really address the question. It almost seems you half admit a conflict, but then you don't. Just for some background why I raise this: the vast majority of your edits seem to revolve around interests of Natalia Ledoux. According to the article you are drafting, she is involved with Château d'Armaillé (1), another article you started. She is part of KlickEx according to their website and confirmed by the vague statement in her article. You also made an edit here. The activities of that company overlap with Draft:Bank de-risking. She apparently spent time on Saint Christopher (yacht), another article you created. There is also this unconstructive edit on the deletion discussion about her business associate (partner?) Robert Bell.
- I agree, Wikipedia depends on the input of subject matter experts for reliable articles. There is a fine line between being an SME in a certain field (e.g. "soccer") and embedding a person deeply into the encyclopedia. Therefore, policies exist that require disclosure if an outside association exists. Edits such as as ones mentioned go beyond "fandom" about a topic, they imply a close connection to a person directly involved with the subject matter. Pls review WP:COI and WP:PAID and ensure you edit in accordance with best practice. pseudonym Jake Brockman talk 08:35, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
Thanks Jake,
I'm definitely not a paid representative. I don't work for her, nor would she probably be pleased to see an article here about her - especially by me - which is why it is vague. I do know she is connected to KlickEx (that was cited) - and therefore the boat referenced in the article, and on reading the boat article - I saw it was necessary to create a definition of "de-risking" as nobody had successfully created one that was yet retained. This is how Wikipedia grows. You may not remember the days early on - but there was a time where not much knowledge was incorporated into Wikipedia. Now there is considerably more. Many many pages have been started by me over the years - and many are much richer pages now that other editors have created additional content since I handed them over. It is a particular joy I have, in seeing a page be over-taken by editors who actually contribute and enhance, rather than delete and diminish. I tend to stay away from personality pages like this one - but there are at least a dozen that I have created of household names that are still in existence. I cant remember the log-on details to all the profiles I have used over the (decades), and that's probably for the better - as some editors do what you have done - and see edits they don't like - and begin a purge of all pages related to certain editors. I particularly enjoy such events when extraordinarily senior editors get involved and rebuke the deletionists. One of the things humans do well, is link ideas together. Whether these be false correlations or not, is an avenue for time. Good luck out there - and thank you for fighting the good fight. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.58.27.242 (talk) 09:08, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Château d'Armaillé (Lake Belle (North) Aspect).jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Château d'Armaillé (Lake Belle (North) Aspect).jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.
Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Perfect, John B123; thank you. I tried to do it and thought I did by adding {{AfC}}... But I didn't get the outcome I wanted. Thanks a million for making it right.
