IPA for German vowels

Hi Cantorman - re. your offer to add English approximations for the German vowel IPA symbols - though I'm not involved with that page, personally I see no reason not to go ahead and do it, since it can always be discussed/amended afterwards. However I would only include the vowels which are actually identical to those found in English, e.g. [ɛ] and [aɪ] but not [a] or [ø]. This is how it's been done at Wikipedia:IPA_for_Welsh, for example. Lfh (talk) 11:07, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
