[edit]

I have a personal list of 1918 nonagenaries throughout the year(I add to it as the year goes on), so I'll help with the list, specifically 1918. --RandomOrca2 (talk) 21:35, 7 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, that'd be awesome... I like the additions thus far! To be honest, I'm not sure if this list serves any practical purpose (other than as a potential pool for the List of centenarians). My main goal was to clean up my watchlist (I got rid of like, 70 pages), but any help that you're willing to offer would be muchly appreciated! Cheers, CP 06:01, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note to self: Saqr bin Mohammad al-Qassimi born 1918, exact date unknown. Cheers, CP 06:23, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mary Wilson, Lady Wilson of Rievaulx and Lucius D. Battle also fall under that category. --RandomOrca2 (talk) 21:27, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Battle was born on June 1, 1918 and died May 13, 2008, so he didn't quite make it to 90 years old.
Also Robert Maheu. --RandomOrca2 (talk) 21:11, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Has now died, but his obituary says he made it to 90. --RandomOrca2 (talk) 18:41, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Lots of conflicting reports on this fellow... the most precise date I've seen thus far is October 1916... Cheers, CP 20:48, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Huber Matos as well. --RandomOrca2 (talk) 00:54, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Matos was born November 26. Cheers, CP 16:53, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cee Pee Johnson and Henri Young, whose living status is unknown. Cheers, CP 19:50, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yet another, Harry V. Jaffa. --RandomOrca2 (talk) 22:40, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Another: Harold Russell Maddock. Cheers, CP 05:33, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Possibly living: Le Van Kim. Cheers, CP 15:20, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Also, this page is worth keeping track of for new names, specifically the Longest lived state leaders section.. --RandomOrca2 (talk) 00:54, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
On that vein, this page can be watched as well. Even more nonagenarians are listed on this page. The talk page is going to be a nice, centralized collection of resources eventually. Cheers, CP 17:05, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder if there's any point in keeping this list updated now that NNC has deleted around 600 of their names... Cheers, CP 22:30, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it could still be updated, but only adding names that were not ones removed from NNC. --RandomOrca2 (talk) 00:21, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like it might be coming back up... guess we'll just have to wait and see. For now, I think your plan is good, insofar as one remembers who was on there! Cheers, CP 16:50, 19 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Intresting page... I posted some info on the Leonard Blumenthal talk page. --Npnunda (talk) 22:55, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And I responded - your research totally solved the case! Cheers, CP 03:07, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A few more names

[edit]

Hello. I have a few more names you might want to add to your list.

These British footballers born in the 1910s are thought to be alive:

  • Ron Dellow (born 13 July 1914; alive in April 2009 [1])
  • Sid Ottewell (born 23 October 1919; alive in October 2009 [2])
  • Andy Black (born 23 September 1917; listed as living on Wikipedia, but I haven't found any evidence to back this up)

Also, the following ten NBA basketball players born in the 1910s are believed to be alive (not listed as dead on bb-ref or apbr):

--Badmotorfinger (talk) 14:42, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, thanks for the info! Black is deceased, since the oldest former Manchester City player is George Smith (footballer born 1921), and Fuetsch is already on the list, but I'll add the rest of the ones with Wikipedia articles shortly and, if you don't mind, strike out the ones that I've added so that if one of the red links goes blue, I'll know to add it. Cheers, CP 20:44, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Done. --Badmotorfinger (talk) 02:48, 14 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dutch nonagerians

[edit]

You might consider these Dutch nonagerians you haven't added to your list (yet):

I have several Dutch centenarians en nonagerians on the Dutch wikipedia (but most of them without a lemma on the English wikipedia):

http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overleg_gebruiker:Guidje

Guidje (talk) 20:04, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well most of them are listed at this person's site, which I don't include (because otherwise this list would be even longer than it already is!) but I have added Heldring, Rijpstra, Janssen, and Minco. Thanks for the tip! I'll have to take a better look at your Dutch list when I have a little more time and see if I can't create an English article on some of those individuals. Thanks again! Canadian Paul 21:27, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have created an English article about Johan van Hulst. There wasn't one yet and because of his long career as a Dutch politician I thought it was time to create one.

Guidje (talk) 20:03, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the article! I've added him to the list! Canadian Paul 03:14, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

2011

[edit]

Here's a list of individuals that I have born in 1921 with no specific date of birth:

Canadian Paul 05:23, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll look..I sometimes get lucky with these types of things. Connormah (talk) 04:28, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Some more Dutch nonagerians

[edit]

As far as I could see none of them are on your list or are present in the non-wikipedean Nonagerians & Centenarians website. Guidje (talk) 16:24, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Janssen was already on the list (he's actually in your post above), but the rest are new so I've added them all. Thanks! Canadian Paul 17:23, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

2012

[edit]

Here's a list of individuals that I have born in 1922 with no specific date of birth:

Canadian Paul 14:28, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Paddy Roy Bates is deceased and your list is missing some really old people like Sergey Nikolsky born in 1905. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.47.12.252 (talk) 13:55, 10 October 2012 (UTC) Toots Thielemans is 90 years old,add him.--31.47.12.252 (talk) 13:57, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for the input. Nikolsky and Thielemans (among others) are missing because I don't include anyone listed on this website, otherwise my list would become far too difficult to manage! Canadian Paul 20:13, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

In that case how about her:Helen Rowland (born 1919).I couldn't find her on the website and she seems to be missing on your list :) --Killuminator (talk) 10:07, 4 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure how notable she is, but I've added her for now. Thanks. Canadian Paul 14:40, 6 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Some suggestions

[edit]

First of all, you've made a great list! Here are some more people you can add.

None of these people are on the Genarians site.

Thanks, I'll have to check these out when I have more time. Two things I noticed immediately, however: Günther Schwägermann is already on my list and Theodore Van Kirk is on Genarians. I thought Eric Priebke was too, but apparently not... Canadian Paul 00:13, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I used a search function to make sure that none of them were on your list, but I forgot about the two dots on the "u". Anyways, you can find more names on this page: User:OscarLake/Oldest Living FIFA World Cup Players OscarLake (talk) 23:21, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Most of these have been dealt with now. I'll look at the 1913 names and the FIFA players later. Canadian Paul 05:35, 2 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Nice. And when you have the time, you can also check out these 9 people (mostly from the movie industry).

OscarLake (talk) 14:28, 10 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A little late, and perhaps more for my own personal reference, but everyone on this list has been addressed. Canadian Paul 19:12, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dutch nonagerians

[edit]

Here are some more Dutch (or people related to the Netherlands) that are nonagerians and have an English wiki lemma

Thanks! I'll take a look at these shortly. Canadian Paul 19:16, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, at least I got to them by the end of the year. They're all added now. Canadian Paul 23:40, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Some Oscar nominated ones that I have found that are either alive or possibly living that could be used

[edit]

Doing this for Oscar nominated people that are not on that site (Elmo Williams is a Oscar winning editor who is), I'm also only using people with date of births listed. Living:

Possibly living:

There were some I thought of putting in, but they had no year of birth so I didn't.

Wgolf (talk) 18:19, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Taken care of all these. Thanks. Canadian Paul 19:13, 6 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Some more possibly living people that are over 100 years old that might go here

[edit]

All of them are possibly living.

Okay that is it for now, will try to find others later.

Wgolf (talk) 01:57, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

All of these have now been addressed. Canadian Paul 16:03, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

More possible ones that might be alive (or alive)

[edit]

Just putting there year of births. Some of them are listed as living, others as possibly living, while some that are listed as living I am unsure about.

Wgolf (talk) 23:59, 22 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

One who I just found the date of birth for that is under possibly living: Tom Winnard, born 1909.

Wgolf (talk) 20:21, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

More:

That is it for now.

Wgolf (talk) 22:17, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

All of these individuals have been addressed. Canadian Paul 16:13, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Someone who just turned 100 it appears

[edit]

Tsuneko Sasamoto, she just turned 100. I never heard of her till the other day myself. But she is alive it looks like! Wgolf (talk) 16:11, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This was taken care of a while ago, but I'll leave a quick note here so that I remember that I have reviewed this message. Canadian Paul 19:30, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Some I've found

[edit]

Here: (Note some that say living might be possibly living, as they are put in to past tense) Living:

Possibly living:

Wgolf (talk) 15:32, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

All of these individuals have now been addressed! Canadian Paul 19:28, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Valeria Valeri

[edit]

Okay just found Valeria Valeri on shorted bios, she is still alive though and her Italian page has tons of info. Wgolf (talk) 23:57, 26 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Added. Thanks! Canadian Paul 19:28, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

John Chalk

[edit]

So I just found this old article on here (okay not that old from 2011) John Chalk, now I put him on possibly living since the 2 links are now dead. So if you can see if he is alive or not would be great! Wgolf (talk) 18:06, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I couldn't find anything definitive, but there are obituaries in the Gold Coast Bulletin and the Brisbane Courier Mail on March 24, 2001 for a John Anderson Chalk who died two days earlier. I could not access either, and neither of them list an age in the metadata, but I suspect that it is probably him. Canadian Paul 17:32, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

František Lanák

[edit]

Found František Lanák on shortest bios-says he was born in 1919 on the link but he was a coach in 1937? Something is odd about that. (I just put him under possibly living) Wgolf (talk) 01:57, 20 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

According to the reference on the page, 1919 was the year that the club was founded, not the year that Lanák was born. Canadian Paul 17:37, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this page acceptable?

[edit]

Hello,

A few months ago, my user page was deleted because of "WP:NOTWEBHOST and WP:FAKEARTICLE concerns".

Are there not the same concerns with this page, as well as this page of yours? If not, why not?

Thanks. -- Ollie231213 (talk) 23:10, 28 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Actually there were concerns, but I addressed them in the deletion discussion because, as stated in my argument, I use these pages primarily to watch for WP:BLP violations on individuals for whom vandalism is more likely to slip by (hence why my Nonagenarian page doesn't include individuals who are relatively well-known and probably well-watched on other channels). It also only includes individuals who are notable by Wikipedia's standards; on this page, only those with articles, while the Olympians are all automatically notable per WP:ATHLETE. You are, of course, welcome to nominate whatever you would like if you feel that it would benefit the project. Canadian Paul 19:52, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Albert N. Whiting

[edit]

Okay I found this guy Albert N. Whiting, says still living on the page yes, but the link is invalid and he is 97 now so I'm not sure if he is alive or not. Wgolf (talk) 23:09, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A public records search confirms that he is still alive. I'll add him to the list. Canadian Paul 23:45, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Okay according to one of the refs Alberto Jesus is dead-but no date of death to be found as of now. (There are some that I sent on the talk page that I'm trying to find any info for as well-currently checking ones on this page though. Wgolf (talk) 21:33, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jacqueline Netter-Minne-Guerroudj-died this year. Wgolf (talk) 21:36, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
