Yes! I understand that is the policy. I thought the line was at WP:IMOS, but I can't find it. I've definately seen it somewhere. It's probably been removed by one of these sockpuppets, but it's a totally sensible policy anyway. If you find it, will you let me know? I have a hard time just leaving things undone when they're so easy to add or fix! A particularly troublesome user...
I've been attempting to help User:KoziKaz with this fact he's been trying to add to the entry on Barney. He wants to mention that one of the characters is shorter, and the reason is unknown. I have said that I don't believe that is notable, and that he has not been able to even provide a reference. He is sending me YouTube videos to try to prove this, but instead of attempting to provide notability, he has resorted to calling me "stupid" and "gay." What do you think I should do? I really don't feel like belaboring this further. Also, I fear that I may be venturing into WP:BITE territory. What do you think I should do about this? Miquonranger03 (talk) 01:54, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Small steps
Can I cheer a little for myself for having an article that I spruced up be reassessed from Stub to Start class? I know it's not all too significant in the grand scheme of things, but it helps me think I'm moving in the right direction here. :) clarityat3am (talk) 03:23, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Adminship
From the point I am currently at (technically a new user, despite having been about for more than 2.5 years), what do you think I should do to be able to consider RfA? Miquonranger03 (talk) 04:21, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm sure it'd fail right now. :D I have, in fact, accomplished those tasks, and I've also read your four step admin coaching page. Miquonranger03 (talk) 13:57, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, really? I didn't think that non-sysops were permitted to contribute to RfAs. Also...my edit count is distorted, most certainly. "Somewhat" is an understatement, in my opinion. :) I use Huggle for vandalism, and when the vandal/whomever disagrees, it gives me an opportunity to demonstrate maturity, control, and diplomacy. However, I do think that I may have a bit of editcountitis, and I am trying to do my best to control this. Miquonranger03 (talk) 15:15, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Hidden sections
Yeah it is sad that they are all leaving. You can create a "useful Wikipedians" section which would be less "suck-upish" ;). Malinaccier (talk) 20:42, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm. Of course there's no policy against it, but I will probably never add my own picture to my userspace. It's really up to each individual user, and I cannot really advise you on this except in saying that I would not personally put up my own picture. You should always remember WP:NOTMYSPACE, and the fact that people will often judge a person by their face. There may also be some privacy concerns. In the end, it's up to you to decide. Motto of the day
Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.
When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.
If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:52, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks very much for the award! I'm looking forward to seeing you at MOTD - as for the quotes, we've seen a fair share of Shakespeare quotes, but they'll all be listed in the archives if you're not sure. :-) Hersfold (t/a/c) 15:53, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

- Aye, at the bottom of the talk page I suggested a compromise that puts Charles' information in, without giving it undue POV weight. 'Course, he tried the same tactic with Oldenburg, so I doubt that anything is going to satisfy him. Prince of Canada t | c 21:09, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

- Yes, those were precisely what I meant. 'Oddly', they were added by G2bambino, whose recent crusades across Liz and other articles have been.. puzzling. I'm as Canadian as he is, but he's making the mistake of thinking 'adding another POV'='NPOV'. Strange. Prince of Canada t | c 08:33, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

RE: Margaret Ford
Thanks for asking! I'm certainly doing my best, and I did a few searches, but couldn't find anything on her, since there's both an author and actress by that name, as well as a company in Chicago. Since I'm not from Britain, nor am I well acquainted with it, it's difficult for me to judge articles that are Britain-related, and I should have noted this. I'll take a week-long break from tagging articles for speedy delete to reread the related policies and guidelines, since I accidentally tagged 2 articles with A4 because I didn't realize that that only applied to articles that were deleted through AFD, not speedy.miquonranger03 (talk) 16:06, 7 September 2008 (UTC) :D
- I think I'll wait 6 months or so, and then begin seriously thinking about becoming an admin. Hiya Cameron. I brought up a compromise suggestion at that article, in hopes of ending the dispute between G2bambino & PrinceOfCanada. I partially succeeded; they both agreed that my idea was bad. GoodDay (talk) 21:00, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Not bad; ineffective. G2 is pulling his usual stunts, and I've made the mistake of getting caught up in it. Unfortunately, I can't leave it alone now, because that just gives him all the more reason to employ the same tactics (that he always uses) the next time he's decided he Must Have His Way. Prince of Canada t | c 21:06, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Bye
I think I'm going to be leaving the project. G2bambino's abuse is more than I can handle, and it will be impossible for me to edit the articles I'm interested in without running into his bullying. Prince of Canada t | c 00:36, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think so. His abuse is well documented and no admins seem to have any inclination to do much about it. And, looking through his contribs from the past few hours... he still does not understand how formatting works, still is ignoring his own statements about formatting solely for his computer. Indeed, his edit summaries are a symphony of passive-aggressive idiocy, gloating in the fact that he's driven another person away from the projec. So what's the point? Seriously, what is the point of even bothering to contribute to a project like this when bullies like him get to run roughshod over the whole thing, wikilawyering the rules to get what they want in total defiance of consensus and community opinion, abusing other contributors, and generally being complete assholes to anyone who dares to have a different opinion? What's the use? He--words from his own mouth--calls WP:Civil 'irrelevant', and states that it is pointless to try and discuss the policy with him. And yet, admins will do nothing. He's been blocked repeatedly for violations of 3RR and abuse, and always claims "Aw shucks, I've been a bad boy, I'll be good now" and never changes. And nobody actually does anything about it. Nobody cares. Prince of Canada t | c 16:56, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- What 'goodwill'? That wasn't goodwill, that was "nudge nudge, look what I did, haha" and nothing more. It's about as far from an apology it is possible to get. Continued disruption to the project through outright bullying, wikistalking (which he has done), repeated violations of AGF and Civil, repeated violations of NPOV, all of these coming after multiple warnings, these aren't reasons for him to be thrown the hell off the project? These aren't reasons to block him? How? He is impossible to work with, as you well know, because once he has decided that It Must Be This Way, there is absolutely no way around it. None. Despite the fact that I was 100% correct over the past few days, it took policy he could not conceivably argue with before he would back down. And he then goes on to say that if something isn't explicitly stated by policy, he can do whatever he wants. He is a bully and a liar and a complete jerk and I really don't understand how someone as intelligent as you are can possibly defend his actions. Prince of Canada t | c 17:17, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'm writing the ANI notice now, actually. The amount of BS in his history is staggering. The number of times he has been warned is equally staggering. Almost 30 accusations and warnings of violating AGF, NPOV, Civil, 3RR, and wikistalking. And that's just as of March 07. I haven't been able to count the number of blocks yet. This is a 'positive contributor' to the project? Prince of Canada t | c 18:52, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

- Eh. He was stuck on making some sort of point (I can't for the life of me fathom what it was), and didn't really care that he was completely contradicting himself in the process. It boiled down to him saying 'Neener neener neener, I'm going to get what I want, too bad for you,' which is ridiculous. Legal threats against me
So! A few days ago I received my first legal threats. I think the lawyers of Cristina Schultz have been removing factual, sourced content that they believe to be slander (although it is perfect NPOV) against her, from the article. Diff They vandalized my user page, diff and also the RFPP page diff (which they had added a request to earlier diff after three times I reverted their removal of content). I placed the following message on the IP's talk page [1], referring them to the NLT page. Do you feel that that was appropriate? Also, is there anything else I should do that I haven't done? Thanks! They were given a 48-hour block per NLT, I just wanted to know your thoughts. miquonranger03 (talk) 01:15, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
Discussion needed for changed
Please stop changing the dablink on commonwealth realm pages. The dablink was decided on a while back. If you have any concerns take them to WP:COMMONWEALTH where a central discussion can take place. Consensus is needed to make such bold changes, since consensus formed the first version and we don't know whether consensus has changed. Also, please do not remove mentions of personal union unless it has been discussed on the talk page. As both the changes you have made affect a large amount of articles I would suggest a central discussion at WP:COMMONWEALTH. Thank you, --Cameron* 17:21, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

RE: Where's Malinaccier
No idea... perhaps he has school work to attend to or something. Hope he's not left us :) weburiedoursecretsinthegarden 11:52, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
- He lost power in the remnants of Hurricane Ike, and hasn't had internet connection. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 13:25, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, he was on IRC very briefly last night, and he said the power was knocked out for quite some time. I suspect he'll be active again in no time. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 17:16, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I was a tad worried for a bit myself. :) Cheers, –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 17:41, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, back now
I will cut to the chase: I lost power because of Hurricane Ike, and am now able to edit. Sorry for the worries, but I'm back and ready to go! Does the matter you emailed me on still need attention? Malinaccier (talk) 22:41, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
I'm sane, honest!
I hope you don't think I'm a looney running around with a sword shouting FREEDOM! Those were of course different days, it's the ballot box for me. I'll be away now to get my kilt on and re-enact the Battle of Bannockburn :) Jack forbes (talk) 17:00, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Miss list
I'm sorry for that whole thing, hopefully you won't have to unstrike it any time in the future! Caulde 15:39, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
- Peter mentioned some list on his talkpage, and so I naturally wondered and saw it on your userpage. As a side note, if you need any help, you can always ask. Caulde 19:11, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
Your cunning plan...
Holy jumping jeepers, that sounds like a great plan! ;) Prince of Canada t | c 12:04, 30 September 2008 (UTC) - Robin
