File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Uwobusinesslibrary.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. — neuro(talk)(review) 13:31, 26 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Music Library

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Music Library requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Proposed deletion of C.B. "Bud" Johnston Library (Business)

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article C.B. "Bud" Johnston Library (Business), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

This article already exists at C.B. "Bud" Johnston Library, which is a more appropriate name.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Libraries

[edit]

Hello there, and welcome to Wikipedia. I notice you are creating a lot of articles on individual libraries in the University of Western Ontario. Unfortunately a lot of them are being Proded for possible deletion because they are just not notable. We don't have articles on every little library at every university as there is just no reason for them to all be notable. Please read WP:Notability for more details on what is notable for inclusion on Wikipedia.

If you think they are notable, then by all means make a case on the talk pages of the appropriate articles, but they may be nominated for full deletion. The articles are well formed, just the subject matter I feel isn't notable. Canterbury Tail talk 18:40, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've been discussing this with the editor above and I'm wondering if you have any reliable sources to offer that would make a case for the notability of these libraries. You might refer to the bottom of my talk page (click the word "talk" after my signature) for the discussion. We both feel that you're doing a good job of creating these pages but we are both wondering about the notability. Perhaps I could help you to determine this one way or the other before you go too much further, just in case you might be wasting your time; feel free to call on me for any assistance that I can offer. Accounting4Taste:talk 19:03, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your note; I'll reply on my own talk page, but wanted to alert you. Accounting4Taste:talk 19:52, 31 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Weldon is notable enough; perhaps the Taylor Library, and the Pride Library (which used to have an article, I think) are also notable, but it is unnecessary to have articles on the others. Information can be added to the UWO article if there is anything interesting to say. Also, a title like "Education Library" is useless. There are probably many thousands of libraries called that, why is so special about Western's? Adam Bishop (talk) 01:34, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've re-written the Weldon article, so it fits better with Wikipedia's standards. Adam Bishop (talk) 02:27, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Arccinsideentrance.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the image (or other media file) agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the image to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the image has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the image's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Images lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

Thanks for uploading Image:Uwobusinesslibrary.JPG.
